#SexySnippets from Man-Droid The Orgasmatron #scifi #spanking

I have just sent back first edits for Man-Droid The Orgasmatron, so I thought I would tease you with a sexy seven from my first foray into Sci-Fi, which is set to release Mid August.

Here's the unedited blurb:

Bethany Devlin never thought she'd fall in love— let alone with an Orgasmatron—yet Elliot Parsons holds her heart and her submission in his circuits.

From the minute Beth meets Elliot, her assigned Orgasmatron, her carefully thought out plan unravels. How can you resist a man designed to fulfill your every fantasy, even if he is a machine?

When the government suspects Elliot has an experimental emotion chip, it places them both in danger. Only one thing Elliot can do…

****

Here are your seven. Beth is receiving her first spanking at Elliot's hands. She is no stranger to this, but Elliot is very much calling the shots. She is supposed to count the swats, and she keeps losing count...

****

Each time, Elliot stopped and thrust two fingers into her dripping pussy, fucking her to the brink of release, before he withdrew with an evil laugh.

“I said count, and keep counting. You stop counting, I’ll start again, and we will be here all night.” He molded his naked torso over her back, his voice a compelling whisper into her ear. “Perhaps this is what you want, sweet Beth? For me to spank you raw so that you can’t sit comfortably for a week? Is that what you need to let go? Answer me.”

Spotlight on Healed Hearts by Tamsin Baker #newrelease @evernightpub

Need to spice up your Saturday? Then I have just the thing for you. I have the awesome Tamsin Baker on my blog today with the next installment in her historical vampire series.

Enjoy!

****

Lucas and Thomas believed themselves unusually blessed to have found their third mate within only three hundred years of being a vampire. Unfortunately, once they turned Piers, that empty, lonely feeling is still there, within all of them.
Ten years of strained relations lead them to a ball where an old friend helps them track down a woman they have all dreamt of.
Maryanne has been thrown out of London in punishment for allowing her fiancée into her bed. She is travelling to meet her new horrid husband-to-be, when she is accosted by three male vampires, all claiming to want to love her.
What is a shamed lady meant to do? Her duty? To marry the horrible old lord, or risk loving three men who are the answer to her prayers?

Excerpt:

“Get out.”
Thomas stepped forward, his hands outstretched to her.
“No, please. We need to explain more.”
Anger was rolling off Maryanne now in waves. Lucas felt sick.
“No, I don’t want to hear anymore about lifelong mates. There are three of you for God’s sake!”
Piers now flew to her side. Their third, their smallest and least intimidating mate, grabbed for her hand.
“We need you, Lady Maryanne. You don’t understand how much we need you.”
She gasped and pulled her hand out of his grasp. Piers moaned liked a wounded animal, so Lucas grabbed him and pulled Piers into his embrace.
Maryanne was panting slightly, her chest heaving as she struggled to contain the emotions they had obviously evoked in her. She moved back towards her bed.
“I understand that the only thing I am now good for is to be married off to some stranger. My horrible parents certainly do not want me. I have been humiliated enough by society, gentlemen. I don’t need anyone to remind me of my current tainted state!”
Lucas froze, his arms still wrapped around Piers. What was she saying?
When they didn’t move as Maryanne had demanded, she screamed.
“Get out!”
Lucas nodded at Thomas, and together they pulled Piers out into the hallway, locked her door and retreated to their room.
Heart thumping, grief assailing him, Lucas slid down onto the floor next to the slumped Piers.
“She ... I ...”
Piers shook again, and Lucas pulled his young mate into his arms. How could it have gone so badly?
“We will convince her. We will. We have time, Piers. I love you.”
Piers buried his head into Lucas’s neck and reached out a hand to Thomas. Thomas came readily, and together they spent the rest of the night on the floor, locked in each other’s arms.
****
Just before sunrise Lucas woke Maryanne yet again, and she rolled her eyes at him.
“We must hide for the daylight hours, but we will visit you tonight.”
Maryanne closed her eyes but not before Lucas saw the tears shimmering there. What had happened to her to make her react this way? They would find out, and they would fix it!
He knelt down next to the bed and put his lips close to her ear. His fangs elongated with hunger as he inhaled her scent, but he focused his mind on wooing her.
“You feel it, too, don’t you? The connection and the need when we are close by. I am the oldest, so I will be strong for you. Thomas is our peacemaker, and he will make sure you are always happy. Piers is our youngest and most passionate. You will never want for love when he is around.”
Maryanne brought her blankets over her head and whispered through them to him.
“Please, just leave me alone.”
Lucas smiled sadly, and they left her, despite his desire to stay and comfort her. He knew she felt as they did; she just had to realize it herself.

Flash Fiction Friday - Surprise #FFF

Happy Friday, folks! Enjoy today's flash.

"Interesting, most interesting…"
Locked in limbo as I'd been for days now, there was nothing I could do, but submit to the new coroner, inspecting me as though I was an interesting microbe.
This one was quite cute in a nerdish sort of way, and I almost felt sorry for him, as the last rays of the sun disappeared behind the horizon.
Sorreen awoke, delighted with her freedom and I felt a moment's worth of regret, as her claws sliced through his throat, his features frozen in surprise, forever.
Too bad.

They should have left me locked in the drawers.

J Love Stories Rock!
 ****
Awww, thanks so much for those kind words, Carlene. How do I do it? An overactive muse. She's gone on hols atm, but I know she'll be back with a vengeance soon enough.

Let's look at this fab new book of yours. I love the cover!!!

Sin’s Flower Blurb:
When Jaxon James, a sexy rock star and struggling single-father, is invited to ditch California and spend Christmas in Tennessee with his estranged family, he hesitantly accepts for his young daughter’s sake.  But his attraction to his best friend’s baby sister, Lily Elstone, threatens to unravel the bonds he’s made for his daughter.  The honorable thing to do would be to give up Lily.  But his instincts are telling him she’s exactly the one who could bring light to his life and the missing fire to his bed.  Unfortunately, Lily's too sweet for his world.  He fears his rock and roll life style will taint her.   How far are Jaxon and Lily willing to go to find what’s missing at home?

Sin’s Flower Excerpt:
Jaxon watched Lily’s hands sinking down into the sand from behind as hesitancy chopped up his steps.  Years of ending up in dire situations had made him a decisive man when he needed to be.  He was making one of those executive decisions right now.  It didn’t matter why she’d come.  And he was close to dismissing his reluctance over whose baby sister she was.  Not when she wore that swishing angelic lavender top that covered her from neck to shoulder to fingertip, driving him insane with curiosity.  God, and that flaming hair which had gone from neon just yesterday to a flattering shade of cinnamon temptation tonight.  His grip tightened around the folding chairs he’d gone to fetch.  Purposefully, he slowed down.
Then stopped.
Wanting her was one thing, but hurting this young woman was not okay.
Standing back, he took another couple minutes to contemplate what could happen tonight.  What he could control and make happen.
He knew they should talk.  He just hoped she didn’t mind how close he intended on being to her while that happened.  His grip loosened and one of the folding lounge chairs fell to the sand.  There would be plenty of room for the both of them on the one.  He walked until he made it back to her side and unfolded the chair to its full length.
“Uh, hi,” she said shyly, her brow furrowing in concentration.
“Hey.”  He sat down and held his arms out to assist her.  “Sit with me?”  He hadn’t given her much of a choice and caught her eye scanning the sandy trail where he’d come from.  “Yeah, I figured we didn’t need that one.”
“Oh, okay.  Wait, just so we’re clear here.  You want me to sit, where exactly?”
God, she would kill him tonight.  That amount of cute couldn’t be faked.  “Here, with me.”  Her eyes widened in disbelief so he scooted until he was flush with the back of the nylon chair and then opened his legs, letting one straddle each side.  “There’s room.”
“You’re crazy,” she said shaking her head.
He let out a faked huff.  His quick decision had been too fast for her and she wouldn’t believe this was his way of comforting her.  “I’ll go fetch the other chair.”
She gouged her hand into her hip.  “Wait.  It’s just…I really don’t think I’m gonna fit.”
A hurricane couldn’t have swayed her decision to stay put.  But she eventually bent her knees, bracing herself with strong hands, and lowered herself until her squeezable bottom met the chair.  Because he wanted her closer, he took the liberty of placing his hands at each side of her waist and scooted her back until she was flush with his chest and his lap.
On second thought, that was way too close.
Someone would kill him for the throbbing going on so close to their little sister.  He wiggled an inch of space between Lily and his now obvious and straining erection.  The last thing he wanted to do was leave her thinking he was incapable of a conversation without sex ending up front and center.  He had amazing amounts of control in that department.  It came along with all the years he’d practiced on the road.  Tonight, plainly put, he just wanted to be close to someone, to Lily.  And this was the way he knew how to do that.
“So what did you want to talk about?” he asked.
“I, I don’t know.”  It sounded like nerves had her.
They didn’t have to start with words.  Fuck him for his appetite but he could say more by doing this anyway.
Hey you, horny fucker.  This is the part where you pat her on the head, say you’re sorry, and send her back to her big sister.  This is not the time for indulging.  Pack it up, Jaxon.
Yeah, no questions about it.  That’s what he should do.

Moving On... With His Handy Man, A Hump Day delight from @EroticWritings #mm @evernightpub

What is more appropriate for Hump Day than having two hunks here? I have the talented Morgan King back on my blog today with her M/M novella Moving On... With His Handy Man

Take it away, Morgan!

****

Hi, I’m Morgan and Moving On…With His Handy Man is my first All Male Romance. Surprisingly it’s also my most personal story yet. It was written from a single moment of feeling, in this case: my ex is seeing someone else it’s time to move on, how in hell do I do that? The answer for me was to write this story. For me this means the characters are very real. I hope they feel that way to you too.

Blurb:
Tom is gutted when his business partner and ex- boyfriend Liam tells him he is seeing someone else. Tom and Liam’s relationship has been over for more than year, but it is this news that convinces Tom it is time to move on with his own life and he finally finds he courage to do something out of character: ask the handyman out.

Jax hasn’t tried to hide the fact that he’s smitten with Tom and he’s thrilled that Tom has finally put Liam to one side and is showing an interest in him. He’ll grab his chance to date Tom with both hands! However, he likes Tom enough to want to be more than just a rebound fling.

Can Tom truly let go off his feelings for Liam, and will Jax have a chance to win the battered and bruised heart of his boss?

Excerpt:
“I don’t mind being the guy you experiment with, even if it’s rebound, even if it’s tit for tat with Liam for finding someone else, as long as that’s not all it is. I really like you, if that wasn’t obvious enough.” Jax said.
Tom gave a sigh of relief, “I really like you, too, and thank you for saying yes.”
“I’m sure it should be me thanking you. You are my superior after all. I’m just the handy man.”
Flirting, I can do this. “And a very fine handy man you are, too.” If he’d been typing Tom would have added a winking emoticon, but as it was he couldn’t pull the real thing off, so he’d just have to hope Jax got the message.
“Perhaps you’d let me thank you and demonstrate just how handy I am.” Jax walked towards Tom as he spoke, not just right up to the other side of the desk, but all around it, invading Tom’s personal space, so that Tom had to lean back to look up. That was until Jax got down on his knees in front of him.
Was Jax doing what Tom thought he was? Hoped he was? Was this how two people who weren’t dating had sex for the first time? Tom had always wondered how two people went from chatting to more. The first time for him and Liam had been after a great deal of build up. They’d been friends who had decided to take it one step further, and the act itself had been well planned. They’d also never had sex in the office before. Given they owned the building it had always struck Tom as a tragedy.
Tom’s mind might not be up to speed with how quickly Jax was moving, but his cock certainly was. It was pumped up and ready to go, pushing against his slacks and trying to get his attention.
It appeared to have Jax’s attention. He reached one hand out to caress Tom’s cock through the silky material. “A good workman needs good tools, and this one feels like it might just suit me.” With heart-pounding slowness, at least in Tom’s body, Jax pulled down Tom’s zipper. Tom’s cock surged forward for one brief moment, but remained restrained by his cotton underwear.
“Here, wait a minute,” Tom said, and then when Jax instantly shifted back, a look of hurt rejection in his eyes, he went on. “No, I don’t want you to stop, I just thought it’d be easier if I…” He leaned his hips up and shimmied his trousers and trunks over his hips, down to mid-thigh, demonstrating his intention before resting his naked butt back on the cool leather of the seat.
There was no way he wanted Jax to stop.
“Ah well, that does make my job easier.”
Jax grinned up at Tom, flashing his sexier than any one man deserved to have dimples. He knelt just looking at Tom’s cock for what felt like an eternity to Tom, every second marked by the pulse throbbing through the long vein running down the underside of his cock, and an increase in size, centimetre by centimetre. If his penis hadn’t measured just over nine inches from root to tip he might have been getting an inferiority complex.

Other Info about me:
Well I like to see myself as an infinitely patient single mother and charity manager by day and reader and writer of erotic romance by night. I love all genres of romance, but have a special tendre for historical stories having been seduced by Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer at a young age. I even named my dog Darcy.
My son is a very imaginative five year old, so when the characters aren’t having conversations in my head I’m voicing the character of a witch, dragon, pirate or possibly knight. Yes, I always get to be the bad guy for some reason! We live in the rural East of England not far from the forest so there are always plenty of opportunities for adventure.
Other Books:
Duty to Love, 5*reader rated, ARe and Bookstrand bestselling erotic regency ménage romance. http://amzn.to/1578Dtb
Her Type of Guy, anthology of erotic short stories, something for everyone. http://amzn.to/12g5Hfs
An Unconditional Courtship, a short sweet regency romance. http://amzn.to/177IKz6

Some questions I’ve answered:
Do you have anything in common with your characters?
I think a writer puts a bit of themselves into every character, male or female. I don’t think I have too much in common with many of my characters, except thinking about it I have a forthcoming story (4th July) entitled Moving On: With His Handyman and although this is about two men the motivation for the story was the feelings I had in common with one of the characters… (if you read it and want to know more just e-mail me!)
What’s the strangest (bravest, funniest etc) thing you’ve ever done?
There’s actually a few to pick from, the one I’ve chosen is maybe strange, maybe funny, but only if you have a warped sense of humour like me and in this case two of my friends.
For some reason we decided it would be funny to play a prank on the University Chaplain, so I convinced a security guard that I had left my purse in the Chaplain’s office and when allowed back in to look in for it slipped the catch on his window. That night we spent hours blowing up balloons before carrying them across campus in black bin bags, opening the unlatched window from the outside, and pushing them all through. Okay there weren’t so many that he couldn’t walk in, but there was certainly no floor to be seen. The next day we staked out his office till he arrived. His expression: priceless!!!
When did you write your first book (and is it published)?
Not long ago! Duty to Love was my first book and was released with Evernight in February. It’s an erotic regency mĂ©nage J

Who are some of your favorite authors?
I read far too much, before I started writing it had got to be a bit of an addiction, seriously, so I could write a very long list, I’ll try to keep it short!
Michel Faber, Ian McEwan, Philippa Gregory, Tracey Chevalier, Jonathon Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Michael Connolly, Harlen Coben, Jane Austen, Daphne Du Maurier, Lauren Dane, Maya Banks, Christine Feehan, Elizabeth Hoyt, J.R. Ward.
That’s the really short list!
What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
Yorkshire Puddings filled with cream cheese and blueberries, especially if they are for breakfast, because I’ve run out of milk and bread! (Yes they are frozen batters, as I’ve run out of milk).
Who did you dedicate your first book to?
A few people, but mainly a teacher that meant a lot to me and a group of women that like to talk sex ;)

I am now taking requests; my sister very specifically wants me to dedicate my forthcoming naughty fairytale No Rest for the Prince’s Virgin to her.
How do you come up with inspiration for your books?
I tend to play the What If game in my head all the time and turn the answers into stories.
What’s the hardest part of writing?
Some days just making yourself write, or researching facts, although personally I could never have been a writer before Google and Wikipedia. That and the consequences of writing, waiting to see if anyone likes your stories!
What are your fondest memories of reading?
My whole family loves books, so they were a big part of my childhood growing up. I still remember my mum recording (onto cassette tape!) The Witches, by Roald Dahl, for me to listen to in the car or in bed when she wasn’t available to read to me.

#TantalizingTuesdays - The Outsider

Happy Tuesday, folks. Enjoy The Outsider...

She climbed onto his lap, desperate to get as close as she could in a public place. His despair matched hers, as he grabbed her ass cheeks. She whimpered into his neck, and he rested his head on her shoulder.
"It's not fair. They can't make you."
She knew she sounded like a petulant child, not the grown woman she was, but she couldn't help it.
"I don't have a choice, baby, you know that. The alpha has made his decision. It's a miracle he's turned a blind eye this long."
His sigh trembled through her and she hugged him closer.
"I hate the territories. What difference does it make?"
"The difference between war and peace, you know that Karima." Her father's deep commanding voice broke though the last moment she had with Joachim and she froze. Joachim's arms tightened around her for one final precious second and he inhaled deeply, as though to imprint her scent in his nostrils, before he stood up and placed himself between her and her father.
"So the rumors are true then?"
She could only nod, and her father seemed to age ten years in front of her.
"So be it, take him away."

Get to know @LaurelCremant and her Persuasion Skills #newrelease @evernightpub

Those Mondays sure come round fast, don't they? But never fear, I have just the thing to chase those Monday blues away.

Laurel Cremant is in my hot seat today, answering my nosy questions, so settle down and get to know her.

****

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Well I’m a little bit of a diva and a lotta bit of a geek. I was in denial of both those things until one day I found myself standing in a computer game shop wearing lime green high heels, chunky gold bracelets and throwing  a massive fit that they didn’t have the latest Final Fantasy game! It was a great moment of self awareness. Oh  yeah and I also happen to be an erotic romance author. I really do fear for my future children and the resulting therapy bills they’ll most likely incur.
However, in terms of hard core facts. .  . I started writing seriously a few years ago . My first published work was a titled Negotiating Skills and I’ve just released my second contemporary romance, Persuasion Skills via Evernight publishing. Writing happens to be the most amazing and horrifying thing I’ve ever done and I’m loving every minute of it!

What made you write ‘this’ story?

I'd been thinking about writing a friends-to-lovers themed romance for a while. I had these two snarky characters rolling around in my head for a while and was just plain avoiding putting them on paper.  So late last year I was puttering around the house (procrastinating really) and watched the following movies back to back; Two Weeks Notice, Iron Man and 10 Things I Hate About You. Yeah. . . by night fall I realized the universe was trying to tell me something so I really had no choice but to sit my ass down and give these two characters their story, hence Persuasion Skills was born.

Tell us about your cover.

I love this cover. Isn't it just delicious? The book takes place in a secluded cabin in Colorado and has some light DSM elements sprinkled throughout and I wanted the cover to reflect no just the setting of the book but also the chemistry between my H/h, Jaxon Grey and Pepper Holts. The design was done by Sour Cherry Designs and I couldn't be happier with it.

Describe a typical day’s writing for us.

I wish there was something typical about my writing days. The truth is that I just try to squeeze in as many hours as possible, in between my day job, family, friends and two attention loving cats. When I do actually manage to sit at my computer, up go my feet on a footstool, on goes my music and lord help the person who tries to interrupt me.

What inspires you?

Everything! Friends, family, the writing community, the reading community, the blogging community, the world at large. . .inspiration comes from all around. I learn so much interacting with the world around me. Seeing how people react in the face of love, sorrow, tragedy, triumph. . .it's impossible not to find inspiration in real life.

If you weren’t a writer what would you be?

A librarian. I kid you not. Although my formal education is very science oriented, I always wanted to get a degree in library science. Still, you never know, I hear the local book shop is coming back in style, maybe I’ll open a small tea and book shop one day :)

Do your characters ever surprise you?

Oh all of the time! I always start off a book with an outline (at least now I do), and even though I use my outline as a guide for how I want the overall story to flow, my characters often surprise me and insist on taking a different direction. In my latest release, Persuasion Skills, there’s a shower scene that is a prime example of a character strong arming me to make certain changes. That scene was originally going to be very different.

What could you not do without when you’re writing?

Music! I create playlists for every story I work on and for every character. Not only does it help me relax, but it also helps put me in certain moods for different scenes throughout my books; from the sad to the sexy.

What words of wisdom do you have for the aspiring authors out there?

Plant your but in a chair. Literally just do it. Stop googling, stop researching, stop blogging, stop thinking about it and just do it! It’s so easy to constantly think about writing, but it’s so much harder to take that first real step and put words to paper (or computer, or laptop, or tablet). Once you finally get to that point and you’ve got words strung into sentences, into paragraphs, into pages you’re ninety percent to where you want to be. However, since being an author requires about two hundred percent effort, the next step is reviewing your first draft, getting an honest critique and developing a very thick skin. But really it all begins with that first step. Just get to writing!

Where do you see yourself in ten year’s time?

Hopefully writing full time. I know that is so cliche but that truly is the ultimate goal for me.

Do you have a favourite quote?

Any line Marilyn Monroe or Jane Russel speak in the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I love that movie. A great combo of sweet, sexy and snarky.  Sorry, profound just doesn't work for me.

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?

Oh gawd! All. The. Time. Thankfully it never lasts very long. I’ve found the best thing to do in those situations is write anyway. Even if it comes out as utter garbage. I have a full time day job so I can’t let the few hours I have to write pass me by. In the cases when I write despite the garbage I’ve actually been able to find little nuggets of a great story or scene and I either incorporate them into my current project or set them aside for my next.

What other books can your readers look forward to?

Im currently working on completing the first book to a paranormal trilogy. Once thats done Ill be finishing up my next contemporary romance titled Acquisition Skills.

And finally can you share an excerpt with us?

Most definitely. This excerpt, shows off a little bit of Jax’s expertise at persuasion...

Excerpt, Persuasion Skills

“Hell, Pep, I missed you,” he said before dragging her from her chair into his waiting lap.
He dipped his head to the crook of her neck and engulfed her into a tight hug.
There was nothing quite like a Jaxon Grey hug. He hugged with his whole body. His tall frame and broad shoulders always curved just right around her, immersing her in a mantle of warmth and shelter.
She dipped her head and rubbed her chin onto the top his head and closed her eyes.
“I missed you, too, jackass.”
His resulting rumble of laughter caused his chest to shift against hers, and just like that, her back stiffened in addition to a few other things along her body.
She bit back a groan as her nipples tightened against the lace of her bra.
The warm gust of his breath against her neck wasn’t helping matters either.
“You’re such a sweet talker,” he said. “And since I like you so much, I promise not to spank you for your bad behavior.”
He pulled her in tighter and began to rub the base of her back. His stroking hand was far from soothing as it settled low, and his fingers grazed the swell of her ass. All it did was remind her of how good his big hands had felt stroking her naked flesh.
She shifted uncomfortably on his knee, trying to scoot away from the heat of him.
“I’m sorry, but I left my Emily Post handbook at home.”
He lifted his face from the crook of her neck and drifted his hands lower. Holding on to her hips, he dragged her forward and caught her gaze with his.
“Really? That’s too bad. Chapter six is dedicated to the perfect way to drape yourself across a man’s lap. Feel like practicing?”
Both his suggestion and hooded gaze held her captive for a few silent seconds. The idea of his strong hands spanking her ass flushed her body with heat.
The thought of him holding her down at his leisure and pleasure was surprisingly arousing. She knew that Jax liked to control things in bed, but how far did his need for dominance go?
“I’ve been doing a lot of thinking.”
He continued speaking as if he hadnt just casually filled her mind with raunchy goodness. She tried not to pout before responding.
“It is what you’re known for,” she said, trying hard not to stare at his mouth. Her clit was already warming at the recollection of what that mouth could do.
She yelped at the pinch he gave her hip.
“Brat. I’m serious. After Mom died, I really started thinking about what I wanted in my life. I started thinking about all of the things missing.”
“Jax, you can’t expect to fill the void your mom left with things. It’s just gonna take a little time to heal.”
“I’m not talking about things, Pep.”
He smoothed a hand up and began to rub the nape of her neck.
“Mom was always pestering me about settling down and starting a family, but I always thought there was plenty of time. You know me. I’ve never been one to believe in love and marriage.”
Pepper tried not to flinch at his words. Jax had always considered love to be an illogical emotion. He always joked that it was just natures chemical drug designed to propagate the species. His outlook on love was one of the reasons why she had always been able to avoid acting on her attraction to him. There was no use ruining a perfectly good friendship for Jaxs idea of a romantic relationship.
His words only served to remind her that falling in love with him was a lost cause.
“But, ever since the funeral, I’ve realized she was right.”
It took a few seconds for his words to sink in.
“Uh, what exactly was she right about?” she asked, confused at his line of thought.
“She was right. I shouldbe thinking about getting married and starting a family,”
What? Okay, who are you, and where have you hidden the real Jaxon Grey?” she said, laughing desperately, and hoping this was his version of a horrible joke.
The look on his face sobered her up quickly.
“You’re not joking, are you?”
“No. I’ve analyzed the situation and determined that my mother was right. So I’ve decided to get married,” he said.
“Married?”
The words came out of her mouth in a whisper of disbelief. Married? Married?
“Yeah, married. And I’ve concluded that you would make me the perfect wife,” he said before pulling her head down and covering her shock-slackened mouth in a hot kiss.

This sounds delicious, Laurel. One for the TBR pile indeed. Thanks so much for sharing with us today.

Blurb:

In the aftermath of a major health scare, Pepper Holts makes the relief-inspired decision to seize the day. Unfortunately, most of her “seizing” involves a bit of merlot and her best friend's pants! After a shared night of passion she realizes that her feelings for Jax are a lot more complicated than she ever thought.

Jax has finally realized that his allergy to marriage has nothing to do with the institution itself, and everything to do with the women in his bed—or more specifically, the one woman not in his bed. Her reaction to their one night together has him scrambling to regroup. So he does what he knows best—he disappears, and he thinks. The plan?—convince Pepper into staying with him at a secluded cabin for one week. One week of pretending to be a happily married couple to show her how great they could be together.
