Romantic Rendezvous Blog Hop #winGC Sometimes it's the little things...

We all love to get away, don't we? And what better way to achieve that than in the pages of a good book. It's one of the things I love most about reading. Allowing yourself to be transported away to far flung places... or not.

Sometimes the most romantic times can be found right here at home. A candle lit dinner, a romcom fest on the telly, a surprise visit to the theatre. The list is endless, really. I would go as far as to say, my hubby turning up with a take away, and a big tub of ice cream at the end of a long trying day with the kids, is the most romantic thing ever. When the babies were little, it was his willingness to lie with a newborn on his chest, so that I could have that much needed soak in the bath.

It's the little things that can be the most romantic and mean the most.

As part of this blog I'm giving away a $10 GC. To be in with a chance to win it, please tell me in the comment what's the most romantic, small thing your other half has ever done for you.

I'm gonna leave you with one of those romantic moments from my upcoming release, Carmel's Choice, which releases February 24th.

It’s just one night of kinky sex. What could possibly go wrong?

When the birthday present from her Master is one night of no holds barred kinky sex with his ex-army buddy, Carmel Blythe doesn’t know what to think. A good subbie obeys her Master’s wishes, however, and there is no denying the instant connection she has with this experienced Dom.

Topping Gideon’s gorgeous wife is the least Nash Jonas can do to repay the debt he owes the man. After all Gideon took the bullet aimed at Nash—the very one that cost the other man his army career, and put him in a wheelchair.  If only Nash could keep those pesky emotions out of the deal.

Gideon cannot stand to see the sadness in his wife’s eyes, nor the restlessness in his best buddy’s soul. Pushing the two people he loves together, will surely satisfy everyone’s physical and emotional needs.

Carmel’s choice may well change everything…

Here is that moment....

Gideon rather enjoyed the way Carmel’s mouth fell open and the worried look she gave him.
“Don’t worry, dove. You’ll like it. Nash might enjoy it less, but I’ll get a kick out of torturing him for a bit.” He added the last for Nash’s benefit, and the other man looked all set up to make some sort of rude gesture. The arrival of the coffee stopped him. He smirked as the waitress made a big show of setting the bill in front of him, and passed it to Gideon.
“You’re paying, right?”
Gideon passed the woman his credit card without looking at the bill, and she scurried off again. Carmel still looked adorably worried.
“I say we forget the coffees. There’s a nice little coffee place on the way, we can stop at and have some.”
Nash smiled his approval.
“Excellent plan. Let’s get out of this place. Stuck-up folks give me the creeps.” He adjusted his tie and winked at Carmel, who was clearly itching to ask what was going on, but the return of the waitress stopped her again.
Nash threw a twenty-pound note on the table with a curt, “For your troubles,” and then they made it out of there.
Carmel visibly relaxed when they were back out in the open.
“Phew,” she said. “You do realize we’ll never be able to go back there, right?”
Nash laughed and pulled her in for a kiss that seemed to go on forever. By the time he finally let her go, Carmel’s expression was adorably flushed and she had gone a little cross eyed. Gideon put his hand out to steady her as she wobbled, and Nash smirked.
“Damn heels,” she muttered and smiled at Gideon. “I hope you’re not expecting me to walk far in them.”
“Not at all, sweet dove. The place is only a couple of minutes away, but we’ve got time to kill, so let’s do some window shopping.”
Carmel scrunched up her face in disgust, and Nash laughed.
“What is this? A woman who doesn’t like to shop? Does such a rare specimen exist?”
Carmel stuck her tongue out at him, and then screeched and scampered out of his way when he swatted her ass once. The playfulness of their interaction continued as they made slow progress. By the time they finally reached the Lyceum Theatre, they still had an hour before the performance started, but they needed to collect the tickets anyway.
Seeing Carmel’s face drop in delight when she noticed where they were had definitively been worth all the subterfuge. She lit up like a Christmas tree when she realized they were actually going in, and Nash rolled his eyes.
“Great. I suppose I shall be prepared to suffer through this,” he said in mock annoyance, and Carmel gaped up at him.
“How can you not like The Lion King? It’s, like, my favorite Disney movie, ever. I can’t believe you actually got us tickets.” She turned to beam down at Gideon, and he took hold of her hand.
“It was one of your birthday presents. The original one involved a look backstage, but I couldn’t rearrange that at such short notice, but we do have the best seats in the house.”
“Ooooh, that is so…Thank you.” Carmel literally hopped in excitement like a small child, and Gideon exchanged an indulgent look with Nash over her head. Perhaps their plan to torture her some more would have to wait. She was far too excited about this, and he wouldn’t spoil it for her in a million years.
Sure enough, by the time they were seated and the curtain went up, Carmel was utterly enthralled in the performance and Nash was just as enthralled watching her reactions. Gideon vacillated between watching the stage and their girl, content with his lot in life right now.
The show finished to a standing ovation, and Carmel kept them entertained by her off-key-singing rendition of all the songs in the musical. By the end of their taxi ride home Nash was holding his ears, and the minute the taxi driver had pulled away he put his hand over Carmel’s mouth.
“Okay, that’s it. I vote we gag her the minute we get inside.”

  2. I got the flu during Holy Week the first year we were married, and George actually got out of bed to go to KMart to get me some medicine, and he also came home with the most adorable little stuffed bunny. She had a pink hat and a little pink bow. It was just the sweetest thing. I named her Suzannah, and she still sleeps in our bed. That was 13 years ago :-)

  5. When we were dating, I asked him what he wanted for his birthday. He looked at me and said, "The only thing I want is for you to be my wife!" This year will be 34 beautiful, wonderful years together. He still tells me he loves me every day and I gets kisses and hugs all the time.

  8. My guy does little things for me all the time that are probably boring to the rest of the world but mean the world to me. My favorite is whenever he surprises me a milkshake or box of candy whenever I'm having a bad day.
