LRC Best Anthology of 2012 Nomination

Excuse me whilst I run around like a loon and squee for a bit, but The Alphas have been nominated in the LR Cafe best 2012 awards.

I am rather excited about my first ever nomination, not least because I wrote this anthology with my fabulous critique group ladies!

We rock, guys, it's official.

*big grin*

Thank you LRC for the nomination!

If you're a member of The LR Cafe and you've read and liked our Anthology, then please vote for us.

Breathless Press Naughty List Blog Hop #erotica #freebooks #christmas

Welcome to my little corner of the Breathless Press Naughty List Blog Hop, which runs from December 22nd - 24th, where we talk all things naughty.

I recently chuckled to myself, because I did one of those Facebook quiz things you can get. This one was a "How naughty are you?"

I got 97% naughty!

*snort*

So, yes, I reckon I'm definitely on Santa's naughty list, and I am laying the blame firmly on Breathless Press' door. Oh yes, I am. You see, I was never going to be an erotic author, oh no sirreee, not me. I could never write *that*. Hey you're talking to the girl who blushed at writing this sentence.

She could feel her knickers getting damp.

*snort*

But then came the call for an antho from BP, and I had an idea, and with my tongue firmly stuck in the side of my mouth, I wrote Awakening.

I recall hubby reading it, and just looking at me like a gold fish... He then said, "Well, my love, you only have to ask if you need to do 'research.'"

*smiles to self*

As you  can tell, Awakening was not included in the Antho, but published as a stand alone. That cover is still one of my favourite ones, and here is just a little snippet from that story for you.

Astrid gasped at the sudden rip of her dress, cool air on her naked flesh, as he thrust one finger into her juices before inserting that digit right into her anus, pulling her closer still. The shock of the unexpected invasion made her sink her teeth into her lips to stop herself from moaning. “No, please, Rashid.”
Another finger thrust deep, lifted her up on her tiptoes, her hands grabbing his shoulders for support. “That’s no, my lord.”
At the shake of her head, a third finger stretched her further and she couldn’t help the startled sob he caught in his mouth in a bruising kiss.
“Yield to me, my bad, bad girl or your punishment will be worse.”
Oh. My. God. He couldn’t mean that, surely. But what did she know about this dark stranger? Nothing but her body’s complete arousal in his presence. Even now, hovering between the pain and pleasure his relentless fingers up her ass were giving her, she wanted his cock inside her so badly she could scream. What is wrong with me?
His gaze locked with hers, his breathing harsh, his pupils so dilated his eyes were almost black. He pushed deeper into her, the pain bringing tears to her eyes as he almost lifted her off the floor entirely. “Yield to me my pretty, now! Trust me.”
Astrid couldn’t resist; something in that dark gaze pulled her right into his barely controlled power. “Yes, my lord.”

*whistles innocently and fails miserably*

But Awakening wasn't my first *First* with BP. Oh no, in Goldie And Her Bears I wrote my first Menage, and we had another foray into some F/F action too.

You can read a hot excerpt HERE.

You can see why I blame BP, right?

*wink*

I found my home an an erotic writer, and I am very happy writing hot steamy sex now. But, and there is always a but, you will always find a heart wrenching love story with that steamy sex. Alpha heroes to die for and sassy heroines who give as good as they get.

As part of this Hop I am giving away one of my available BP books, which are those two and the Anthology The Alpha's.

Before I go let me pimp my brand new Christmas Release with Breathless Press.

A homeless shelter at Christmas may seem an odd place to find one's soul mate, but love knows no boundaries—or does it?

Anja has grown fond of the wolf-like dog hanging around the shelter. With her soon to be ex -boyfriend putting pressure on her, her canine friend proves to be more reliable than any human could ever be. If only he were more than just a dog.

Helping others is not always easy to do, unless Ethan can do so undercover. However, hiding your true self brings problems of its own. Finding a mate had not been in Ethan's plan of action, but Anja's easy acceptance of Mutt breaks through all of his defenses.

The problem is he is not what he seems, and will his deception by proxy prove the end of them before they even have a chance at love?

For an excerpt and to buy it at 10% off (well you can't blame a girl for trying, right?) visit HERE.

Six Sentence Sunday

Today's six are one again from the just released The Alphas, Blood Bar Chronicles.

Henri has just run into Noelle...

Henri stood rooted to the spot, watching her from the shadows. What on earth was she doing in Edinburgh? And who had put those shadows in her eyes? The fresh-faced, sassy student he'd picked up in a bar in London, not dissimilar to this one, almost seven years ago had changed into a beautiful woman, who seemed to carry a heavy burden. His gut had clenched and his conscience churned, seeing the storm of recognition in the depths of her blue-grey eyes eyes earlier. Eyes which, he knew, changed color with her mood: Azure when she was happy, sparkling with laughter; the color of a summer's sky when she was deep in thought; and the dark, soulful blue of the darkest ocean in the throes of passion.

Check out the other participating authors here.
Have a great Sunday, folks :-)

Release day!!!

Lots of demented hopping is going on here today, because The Alphas, Blood Bar Chronicles, Book One releases today. My contribution is Saving Hope.

“Saving Hope”

Noelle has only one thing on her mind — how to save her sick daughter from a mysterious illness. The night out with the girls ought to be a distraction, but it turns out to change her life forever.

Fate is not something Henri, a two thousand year old vampire, takes lightly. When he steps into the bar teeming with Supernaturals, there is only one scent he finds. Noelle was the one woman he’d never forgotten. She held a secret that could cause a war. With time finally ticking in his ear, there is only one decision he can make — he has to protect her or die trying.

*******

To say I am excited would be an understatement, but today I am in good company. You see the ladies who are in this anthology with me belong to my amazing Critique Group UCW.

You will have heard me wax lyrically about the UCW girls on more than one occasion, and I will no doubt continue to do so for years to come. They are so much more than 'just' critique partners. They have become firm friends and my second family and I know I wouldn't have achieved half of what I have, without their support, critique, whip cracking and holding of hands that happens every day in our group.

Don't believe me? Look at this UCW Banner our resident IT Guru Cherie Nicholls made to celebrate the group's achievements over the last year.

We are adding to those covers all the time!

Talking of Cherie Nicholls, it was one of her random ideas (she's famous for them) that is to blame for this anthology. We were all in a bit of a writing slump, and waiting on submissions and Cherie said, "I had this idea..."
We all groaned and then sat up and took notice when she explained it. Just for fun (famous last words)let's take a group of ladies round a table in a bar, we all take one lady and tell her story.

We swapped ideas, came up with a theme and off we went. Breathless Press heard about our group project, said could they have a look and the rest is history. All three books in the series have now been accepted, so look out for them in the months to come.

Pretty awesome stuff all round. I had such fun writing this story and working closely with my mates and we are very proud of the Alphas. If you like shifters, vampires, fire elementals, time travel and a bit of Egyptian history and prophesy thrown in and lots of heat, then give the Alphas a whirl. You will not be disappointed and yeah, I am biased, but as Cherie would say, Bite me!

*grins*
The Alphas are all giving away an e-copy of our new release, so you have four chances to get your little hands on one. Just leave a comment below and then hop on to Cherie Nicholls, Arya Grey, and Jorja Lovett. If their posts aren't up yet, they soon will be, so do check them out.

*gets her whip out to get the other three to blog*

All that remains is to leave you with a little excerpt.

"Belle, as much as I would love for you to undress me, there is no need. I'm fine." His large hands on hers stilled her feverish attempts, and the mocking words finally registered over the frantic beating of her heart.
"How can you say that? You're not fine, there is too much blood. We—" His grip under her chin forced her to look up at him, freezing her protests. As she watched, the lacerations on his throat and cheek closed in front of her eyes. But that was impossible, unless…"What in the world are you?"
The man—thing, whatever he was—froze at her whispered words, and the brief glimpse of pain she caught in the indigo depths of his eyes before he looked away, spoke to her more than any words could have. The coolness of his skin seeped into her hands still resting on his shirt, and she bit her lip to stop from reacting further as all the puzzle pieces clicked into place. It all made sense now. From the minute she had spotted him all these years ago, she had been unable to resist him, and even now all her body wanted was for him to bury his cock deep inside her, and damn the consequences. Her hands moved over the muscles in his chest of their own accord, traveling up to his throat over the just-closed tear. They skimmed along the strong jaw, stopping just short of his full mouth. She watched his fangs descend with a soft click.
"What do you think I am, ma belle?" His deep voice washed over her, increasing the tingles in her core. Moisture pooled between her legs, and she couldn't quite stop her low moan of arousal. He tightened his hold on her arms for a moment before he pushed her away. "Noelle, listen to me, there is something you need to know. You're not yourself." He paused, shaking his head at her as she strained to get closer to him. "If you were, you'd be running away screaming by now, not looking at me with come-fuck-me eyes."
Instead of appalling her, the crude words sent a renewed burst of her juices into her already drenched knickers. She locked her fingers behind his neck, but he wouldn't budge, even as she tried to close the distance between them.
His voice was a low rumble in her ear. "Noelle, listen, you're under a spell. What you feel right now, it's not real."
Damn him, he talked too much. She so needed to come. Of course she was under a goddamn spell, one of his doing. She hardly recognized the needy voice coming out of her mouth, pleading with him. "I don't care, just—Please, I want you."
