#MWTeaseHalloween from Lure of the Blood "I cannot let you go." #wolfshifter #sale @evernightpub

Hey, lovely peeps. I'm raising my head from my sick bed so to speak to bring you this tease. I wasn't sure I'd manage it, actually, but am determined for things to go back to normal around here.

For those not friends with me on FB, I was rushed into hospital early on Sunday morning with Sepsis following on from a bout of Tonsillitis, which started as a sore throat late Friday evening. Yeah, I had no idea, things could progress that quickly. Suffice to say, I was already in stage two when I arrived, and the A&E Doctor very helpfully declared that it was only due to me being normally fit and healthy and my body having a lot of reserves that I was still conscious.

To quote him. "These stats are very, very impressive. I'm amazed you can still talk to me." I shall spare you the boring details, but some very aggressive antibiotic  treatment later, which included the whole works of oxygen, drip, steroids, to name but a few, I eventually emerged from the haze. I came home with a battalion of antibiotics and painkillers on Monday afternoon - sooner than anticipated, in fact - and am slowly clawing my way out of the haze.

I'm only mentioning this, because this is bound to be full of errors, so forgive them, please. Those abs have some pretty strong sideffects.

****

Enough of my pity party, however, and onto the tease. I thought I would go back to the very first paranormal story I have ever written, Lure of the Blood, which is an Editor's pick.

*smiles*

Marnie and Ion face an impossible situation, and there seems no way out of it.

Usual warning applies, this is a hot tease. Marnie has tracked Ion into the forest, where he has run off his frustrations, or so he thought.

“Guess I know who wore the trousers, your mum, right?”
“My father loved her to distraction, so yes. I guess in the privacy of our home, she did. He would have done anything for her as long as it didn’t endanger the pack. But the pack came first, always. It had to. That’s the only reason he allowed her to visit the witch. He needed an heir and at least on that, she delivered. He knew there would be a price to pay, there always is with magic, but my mother was desperate for a baby. He would have gladly forsaken children, were it not for the bloodlines.” The expression in his eyes made Marnie’s heart skip a beat, before it turned into a jackhammer at his next words. “I understand how he felt. It’s not easy being torn between your duty and the woman you love.”
“Ion, I…” His kiss stopped her response and for the life of her she could not resist the gentle caress of his firm lips. When their tongues touched, Ion’s wolf growled low and he deepened the kiss with an urgency and desperation that matched her own. She shuddered when he broke away, the determination in his eyes so intense she forgot to breathe altogether. His fangs descended and he tilted her head with a muttered curse. Marnie could feel the heat of that gaze setting her alight. The temptation to give in to the silent question in his glowing eyes as his head descended towards her and his fangs scraped along her neck was almost too much to resist.
But they couldn’t do this. She wasn’t right for him, no matter how much every single cell in her body screamed at her to submit. With clarity, she suddenly knew that her destiny was to stop him, to save him from himself. She had to leave and in time he would find a shifter female; he had to. His furious howl, when she put one hand on her neck and pushed against his chest at the same time, echoed around the tall ferns.  He had never looked more like a wolf than at that moment, the veins in his neck standing out, his body coiled for action. The air around him shimmered and Marnie held her breath at the leashed power in front of her, his features barely human as he growled at her.
“Fuck it, little one, do you have any idea how much I want to claim you and say to hell with the consequences?”
She tried to scramble away from him, but the arm of steel around her waist yanked her back on his bare lap. The heat of his naked body enveloped her, pitching her own arousal to meet his. She gasped at the feel of his fully erect cock nudging against her core and instant moisture seeped through her thong. Her stomach flipped in anticipation and her womb clenched painfully, sending a spike of pure lust to her instantly throbbing clit. There was no way his shifter senses wouldn’t pick up on her body’s immediate response and the heavy scent of her arousal in the air between them. She buried her face in his chest, unable to look at the fierce heat in his eyes, as his hold on her tightened and his breathing grew heavy.
“Ion, we can’t… please.”
The grip on her waist grew painful and his voice was a strained plea in her ear.
“I want you, little one. I cannot let you go.”
Marnie screwed her eyes shut, inhaling deeply of Ion’s scent. Oh he smelled so good and this felt so right, but they couldn’t do this. She could never be his and she had to leave.
“We…we can’t, Ion. I’m endangering the pack just by being here, you know that. They’ve charged me with murder and they will find me eventually. I cannot be here. You would risk exposure and it’s my stupid fault this happened in the first place.” She placed one hand on his mouth to stop his immediate denial, her heart skipping a happy hop at the fierce protectiveness she saw in his eyes.
“No, Ion, it is my fault. Not yours, not even Lucas’, but mine. You both just reacted to my stupidity and tried to save me in your own way. If I hadn’t insisted on walking, none of this would have happened. The man wouldn’t be dead and you wouldn’t have felt obliged to bring me back here and…”
He silenced her with a kiss, his tongue demanding entry, his body crowding her. His low growls turned the blood in her veins to molten lava as her body went up in flames, until she simply kissed him back.  She melted into his body, when he licked down her throat and when his teeth closed around one of her nipples through the fabric of her shirt, pure shards of pleasure shot straight to her clit. Her hips moved restlessly, rubbing her swollen folds against the head of his cock and they groaned in unison, when he lifted her in one fluid move. Shoving the flimsy barrier of her underwear away, she moaned low in her throat when he drove into her wet heat in one powerful thrust. He held himself perfectly still, his muscles trembling with the effort, his eyes like hot coals devouring her.
“Still think we can’t do this, little one?”
She barely managed a feeble shake of her head, before he moved them both to their knees, the move lodging him deeper inside her.  The breath whooshed out of her lungs, when he grabbed her hips to pull all the way out, only to thrust deep with a low growl in her ear. His chest hair tickled across her back and his warmth enveloped her, as he licked up her neck. The bite on her ear, as he pulled all the way out, only to enter her again in one slow, deliberate move, pure pleasure mixed with pain.  Marnie felt every agonisingly slow thrust, as her internal muscles clenched around him, desperate to hold him in, to seek the release only he could bring. Every move scraped against her G-spot building the sweet pressure to unbearable levels, until she begged him to move faster, yet still he kept it slow. Every thrust punctuated with the same growled words over and over.
 “You...are…mine…little…one…and…I…will…never…let…you…go.”
When Marnie thought she couldn’t possibly take anymore, her whimpers filling the falling shadows around them, his touch on her clit sent her spiralling into the abyss and he finally lost control. With an almost brutal yank on her hair, Ion pulled her up against him, the shift in position lodging him so deep his cock scraped her womb and she was lost in the frantic assault on her senses, as waves and waves of intense pleasure consumed her. The wet sounds of their bodies slapping together, their harsh breaths and Ion’s growl of completion reverberated around the small clearing, before they both collapsed on the forest floor and Ion pulled her sated body atop his.
“You’re mine, little one. Whatever happens, you’re mine!”

Marnie's decision to finance her law degree by pole dancing awakens her latent sexuality, and the mysterious stranger lurking in the shadows sends her libido into overdrive.

Realizing her sexy lurker is a vampire is bad enough, but her boss is the alpha wolf of a pack of shifters? Torn between her attraction to both men and surrounded by danger, she has a decision to make. One that will change her life forever.

#AuthorInterview with Jessica Stevens @JPStevens79 #newrelease #pnr @sirenbookstrand

Please give a warm welcome to a very good friend of mine. Jessica is here to answer my nosy questions and to tell us about her new release with Siren Booktrand, Alana. If you love wolf shifters you will love this story.

Let's get to know Jessica a bit better!

*****

Wow, It’s so good to be here. Thank you Doris for having me over.  For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Jessica Stevens, Author of my debut solo book, Alana.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Hhmmm where to start?  I was born in Northern Ireland and moved to the UK when I was only 6 weeks old. I am married to a fantastic man and we have three beautiful (challenging at times) children, ranging from nine years to 23 months. Yes I am in denial about the nearly two thing, he is my baby.

What made you write ‘this’ story?

I started this story a few years ago as part of the Nano WriMo challenge, which is basically a challenged to write thirty thousand words in the month of November. I failed epically, but the story stuck with me. After falling pregnant with my youngest and being completely put off many things, giving birth, juggling a new born and two other children, and the inspiration from my beautiful niece, Alana was finished.

Tell us about your cover.

When I got the cover request, I was asked to detail anything ideas I had. The poor cover art lady got the following:
Dark background of woods, possible moon, maybe a wolf face/shadow in the mood?? Alana and Nick center somehow displaying him protecting her?  Sorry not very helpful.
And this is what she came up with:

Absolutely amazing considering the request I put in, but I am very pleased with it. Especially the meadow, which you will understand when you read it. I didn’t put it in the request, which just goes to show the fabulous lady must have read bits of my book at least, to get it.

Describe a typical day’s writing for us

Sometimes my day can start in the middle of the night. My toddler will wake for a feed and something will pop into my head and I cannot get back to sleep. It will mull over in my mind until I get the opportunity to write it down. Usually this isn’t until my toddler has a nap, although of late this has dramatically shortened in length, so it has to wait until the evening when all three children are in bed. Then I type and it all just flows through my fingers. I can write anything between 1-3 thousand in an hour. I don’t have a strict routine, my children have to come first. However I do fantasise about an office type writing place and being able to write more when all my children are in school. But that is a few years off yet so I won’t focus on that too much.
I don’t write with noise. It has to be silent so I can hear my characters properly. I have written the wrong thing once or twice and they stopped talking to me. Not good! I do however have to write by a window. Sometimes I can see what I am supposed to write played out in the reflection of the glass. I guess it is fair to say that I am not a plotter or a planner. Inspiration will strike and I just go with the characters. I take each day as it comes and try not to get so stressed about it.

What inspires you?

To write? Oh it can be anything from a make-up add, which is what sparked my current manuscript. A walk in the woods can trigger something. Something I see, Something I hear. Literally anything can spark my imagination. I let it roll around in my head for a bit. Then when the characters are strong enough to tell me what to write, I write.
What inspires me in general? I am fairly motivated by my own desire to do well and to achieve. My husband inspires me to keep going when it’s tough and my beautiful niece taught me to fight for what I want, no matter what.

If you weren’t a writer what would you be?

Well before I started writing I had left work to be a full time mum. I couldn’t go back to an office now. I would go back to being the family teacher, nurse, cook, cleaner, councilor, referee, mother, friend and lover.

Do your characters ever surprise you?

Oh yes! There is a creepy character in Alana. Honestly he took me weeks to write a particular scene as I was so against something he was doing. You will understand this when you read the book. I tried so hard to fight with him, but I had no choice, I had to write it. He still creeps me out thinking about him. *shudders and goes all goosy*

What could not do without when you’re writing?

My slippers. I cannot stand cold feet. Don’t much like being cold full stop, so always have my snuggly blanket close by with the arms in it so I can still type.  I need a window. Sometimes the scene I am writing plays out in front of me in the reflection of the glass, so I must be near a window.

What words of wisdom do you have for the aspiring authors out there?

Don’t doubt yourself, or your abilities to write. Just write it, put it away for a month or so, then read it. You will surprise yourself by what you pick up, which just shows how much you have learnt. Just do it.
Where do you see yourself in ten year’s time?
Lol I know where I would like to be, writing books and having them made into a movie. As for where I will actually be, well, like my writing, I’ll take it a day at a time. Live for the moment and enjoy the ride, wherever that may lead, that’s my moto.

Do you have a favorite quote?
I do actually. Anything is possible if you just believe in yourself. Not sure if this is an actual saying, but my daughter had it drummed into her at primary school, and it sort of stuck with me.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?
No to be honest. I think that is because my window to actually write is fairly small, so when the opportunity arises, it just flows.

What other books can your readers look forward to?

I am currently working on Behind The Make-up, which was sparked from a make-up add on T.V. I am hoping to finish this by Christmas, ready for a new year release.

And finally can you share the blurb and excerpt with us?

I certainly can. Here is the Blurb:

Alana Knight has the power to control the minds of animals, including shifters, who want her dead. A tragic past has meant that Alana has spent most of her life in hiding. Concealed as a conservationist she’s helped reintroduce wolves back into the wild. A dead body on her land proves her enemies have found her. She has no choice but to call on her protectors.
Detective Nick Valaskin has been secretly watching over Alana for years. He had vowed to protect her since coming of age. When she calls the police about a dead body on her grounds, Nick takes no chances and goes to her protection. Face to face with his childhood companion, it’s not long before passion burns between them. It puts Alana’s life in more danger than Nick could have imagined. Torn between love and a promise Nick struggles, but together they face Alana’s tragic past in the hope of preventing history from repeating itself.

 And the Adult Excerpt:

“What the fuck was all that about?” he demanded, trying to stand up straight. Alana didn’t respond, just stood and glared at him.
“Your crazy fucking wolf nearly caught me,” he continued, trying to justify his aggression. He searched her eyes for an insight to what she was thinking. He hadn’t meant to change on top of her, it just happened.
Alana moved across the room to his pile of clothes. She picked them up and threw them at him. “Deal with it,” she stated with such coldness that he could feel the temperature in the room drop. Nick was suddenly aware of his naked state as his clothes flew in his direction. His t-shirt, being lighter, only made it halfway between them, whilst his jeans connected with his feet. He scooped down to gather them from the floor, closing the gap between them.
Alana turned on her heel and marched out the door into the hallway. Nick followed after her, clothes still in hand.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he shouted after her, as she started to climb the stairs.
“That’s none of your business, Nick, just leave me alone.”
It hurt Nick that she didn’t even turn to face him as she spoke. She just continued to run up the stairs. It wasn’t his house to just follow her, but his gut assured him it was the right thing to do. He took the stairs two at a time and closed the gap between them, just as she tried to close her bedroom door in his face.
“Leave me alone!” He could hear the tears in her voice and he pushed open her door with a little more force than he intended. She jumped around as the door banged into the wall.
“Get out,” she screamed at him, but Nick refused. He walked over to her slowly, his voice very calm and soothing.
“No.” Nick stopped right in front of her. The ice he saw in her eyes before had been replaced by pain. Instinctively, he reached out to touch her face, but she turned away from him. Gently, Nick turned her head back to face him and he took another step closer to her. Their bodies met with the rise of their chest as they breathed. The atmosphere was much calmer, as if time itself was slowing down. Nick kept his gaze on Alana as he moved his face closer to hers, her eyes slowly closing in response to his gesture. He waited a moment to see if she would pull away, but she didn’t. Now he understood why she got so upset. She was just as attracted to him as he was to her.
Their lips met, soft and lightly, as Alana took that final step to close the gap between their bodies. Her hand caressed his chest as Nick dropped his clothes on the floor and tangled his fingers into her hair.
“Alana,” he whispered as he pulled back, putting a little thinking space between them. He knew his body, and finally having her in his arms, stopping wasn’t going to be easy.
“I want this, Nick,” she answered, as she pulled off her T-shirt to reveal smooth, silky skin. Nick’s gaze went directly to her abundant breasts, encased in white lace. The feel of her body against his made his erection more evident. Then Alana smiled nervously at him as she started to unbutton her jeans. Impatience got the better of him as he pulled Alana against his body. This time he kissed her deeper, putting his hands inside the waistband of her jeans as he edged them down over her hips. Alana stepped out of them as he fumbled with the back of her bra. It was when he started to pull at it with force that Alana stepped back from him. As she raised her hands to her breasts, Nick watched in shock, not quite sure what she was going to do.
He had never taken her for the “touch yourself” type, yet here she was. He swallowed hard at the devilish smile on her face. Then she undid the clasp at the front of her bra. With both hands reaching out for her shoulders, Nick slowly pulled the straps down each arm, pulling her warmth back to him as he did.
Naked, but for her matching white panties, Nick backed her against the wall. He kissed her neck and cupped her breast, relishing the sound of her sharp intake of breath as he teased her nipple between his fingers. Then he kissed his way down to her breast as he helped himself to a mouthful. Alana moaned as his teeth grazed her nipples and his long, hard length pushed against her moist panties. She lifted one leg allowing him to move against her as her breathing became deeper and irregular. The heat of passion made their skin glisten as Alana gripped Nick’s hips and pulled them against her.
They both moaned out as the tip of his shaft pushed into her wetness slightly. Her panties prevented him from going deeper. She rocked against him, her hands sliding over his chest and around his back before they came to rest on his ass as she thrust against him harder and faster. Nick couldn’t wait any more. He lifted her up and walked over to the bed. With her legs wrapped tightly round his waist, he crawled along the bed before laying her down on her back. He pulled out of her as he leaned back, his hands sliding down her body to guide her panties down her legs.
His face stopped at her neatly shaven mound. Nick lowered his head and licked between her swollen lips, tasting her arousal as he sucked her nub into his mouth. He felt Alana’s fingers grip at his hair on either side of his head as she squirmed and moaned beneath him. He drove his tongue into her again as he lapped at her juice.

#SexySnippets from For the love of Mutt (week2) #christmasstory #shifter @breathlesspress

Happy Sunday, folks. I'm bringing you another hot seven from my Christmas story For the love of Mutt. It's a continuation from  last week. If you've missed it, you can read last week's HERE.

So without further ado, here are your seven:

Dream-lover's earthy scent had surrounded her and pitched her need for his touch even higher. Not the expensive colognes she was used to from Declan—no, this was pure aroused male—earthy, spicy, with just a hint of sweat and that indefinable something that had made her want to retaliate and sink her teeth into his skin and taste him. Lord only knew where that thought had come from. She'd bucked and writhed underneath him when he'd flattened her nipple against the roof of his mouth. Every suck, nip, and bite seemed to have an invisible string to her clit. Her pussy had spasmed, her juices had coated her thighs, and she'd moaned and begged for him to get her off like some sort of wanton woman. By the time he'd finally worked his way down her body, she'd been so desperate for release, the scrape of his beard against her swollen folds, combined with his hot breath on her clit had sent her tumbling into a powerful orgasm.

A homeless shelter at Christmas may seem an odd place to find one's soul mate, but love knows no boundaries—or does it
Anja has grown fond of the wolf-like dog hanging around the shelter. With her soon to be ex -boyfriend putting pressure on her, her canine friend proves to be more reliable than any human could ever be. If only he were more than just a dog.
Helping others is not always easy to do, unless Ethan can do so undercover. However, hiding your true self brings problems of its own. Finding a mate had not been in Ethan's plan of action, but Anja's easy acceptance of Mutt breaks through all of his defenses.
The problem is he is not what he seems, and will his deception by proxy prove the end of them before they even have a chance at love?

#SexySnippets from For the Love of Mutt #christmasstory #wolfshifter @breathlesspress

Happy Sunday, folks. Can you believe it's the 1st of December today?  We'll blink and it'll be Christmas. So, in honor of the season of goodwill and all that, I'm sharing seven sentences from my Christmas story For the Love of Mutt.

Anja has had an interesting dream... or was it?

*grins*

She'd drifted off into sleep last night, having poured her heart out to a patiently listening Mutt, his comforting heavy presence on her body like an extra thick blanket. Only in her dreams the dog had morphed into a drop-dead gorgeous man with shoulder-length chestnut hair that she'd clung to while he'd licked her body all over.  He'd brought her to an earth-shattering orgasm using just his tongue and fingers. His goatee had tickled her sensitive skin as he rubbed it across her aching breasts and her nipples had puckered and begged for his attention. Her dream lover had ordered her to keep her eyes shut after they'd fluttered open and she'd caught a glimpse of broad shoulders and abs to die for. She'd obeyed the growled words immediately, her body responding to his domination with a surge of liquid heat between her thighs. Never had she been this turned on in real life, let alone in a dream.
