In any case - Enjoy!

The babysitter's frantic call hadn't told Karen
much. The teenager's words had been interspersed with shrieks and the sound of
slamming doors. Seeing the girl now, sat on the front steps, knees drawn up to
her chest, rocking to and fro, as though she'd seen a ghost, did little to
reassure her.
"Thank God you're here. I've locked that thing
in upstairs." She jumped up the minute Karen approached, and darted away
from her, eyes wide in terror. "Don’t you dare touch me. I don't get paid
enough for this shit. I didn't believe them when they said … Freak!"
Karen suppressed a sigh and let herself into the
house. So much for a fresh start in a new place.
One night of unforgettable passion had left her with
a legacy of looking over her shoulder. Not that she could blame folks. The
first time her adorable baby had transformed in front of her, Karen hadn't
believed her eyes either.
Shifters weren't real. They were the stuff of
nightmares and smutty novels, not packaged into six foot five of
sex-on-legs-gorgeous-bad boy.
She'd run away from him after their one night
together, but she couldn't run away from their daughter.

ReplyDeleteLol, Gemma!
DeleteI love dogs but I've never bred mine. your picture and the story are so tough to tolerate.
ReplyDeleteI don't quite follow, Pablo! What has this got to do with dogs? That's a wolf cup in the picture, and she's a shifter, same as her dad. The one night stand her mum had. No breeding of dogs involved, so colour me confused.
DeleteCub not cup, lol.
DeleteNeat story! Nobody every thinks of consequences like this one. Just great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Molly, and nope, she sure wasn't expecting that.
DeleteInteresting piece Doris.
