Welcome to my little corner of this great blog hop. I love Autumn. It is one of my favourite seasons, and always has been. I grew up on a tree lined street in Germany, and every Autumn there was an abundance of leaves, and conkers. So Autumn meant play time. I have very fond memories of hunting for conkers, and then spending hours at the kitchen table, creating little men and women out of those conkers, with matchsticks arms and legs.
Leaves made beds and houses, and those little conker people used to go on grand adventures. I guess even back then I was spinning stories :-)
And do you know how much fun a little girl can have diving into piles of leaves, taller than her? I did mention there were lots of trees, didn't I? So many treasures to discover, so many ways to get into trouble...
Leaves dry and they catch fire very easily and when you play cowboys and indians, you need a fire to send your smoke signals, right?
Yeees, that was the day my gran made sure the only matchsticks I was allowed to use were used ones. As an adult now I dread to think what could have happened, but with a child's fascination I was drawn to fire like a moth to the flame.
A bit like my heroine, Neeve in Masks Of A Tiger which releases November 16th.
Neeve doesn't understand why any normal person would choose to wear a collar, like a common house pet. So, the collaring ceremony of her best friend's sister in law is the last place she wants to be, even if the hot men watching her send her insides aflame.
Never one for missing the opportunity to teach a bratty sub manners, Grisha intends to show the fiery little redhead the error of her ways. He doesn't expect to see her drawn to the flame like the proverbial moth. When she hurts herself in ways that even a Dom of his experience finds hard to witness, he knows he needs to help her.
Will their sexual chemistry be enough to chase away their demons and burn away their masks? Or is the submission Grisha demands too much for Neeve to accept?

****
Unfortunately for Neeve she didn't have a gran watching over her to ensure she didn't get into trouble as a child with some tragic and long lasting consequences. Will Grisha succeed in helping her? What do you think? Let me know in the comments, please.
In his words...
"I get the whole need to mark skin thing, but you need to do it in a safe manner. I leave marks that fade, never scar. Marks that tease, and arouse, and get you so damn turned on, you'll have the hottest sex you ever had. Marks that will proclaim I own you, at least whilst in a scene. Think on that, sweetheart, next time you stare into the flame."

It’s hard to say what exactly would be my Go-To Autumn Romance book. When I think real hard about it, I would have to say it has a sexy, strong, determined male that when it comes to love is just lost. Then there has to be a woman who is usually in need of help or needs to know what love and family is. Together they heal each other and love turns out to be their greatest gift. I also love a happy ending at this time of year, usually where the epilogue has them starting their own family to love and cherish. Oh….and definitely HOT loving too!

Ah yes, I love those kind of books too :-)
DeleteI love this time of year for reading - problem is, I'll happily stop what I'm doing, book or kindle in one hand, coffee in the other and go snuggle with a cat to do to!
ReplyDeleteLoved your post and how it worked into your story... very intriguing as always and I can't wait to find the time to read it! Maybe I'll go snuggle up soon with that kindle and coffee ;) x
Lol, I hear you, Xandra. Once Nano is over I intend to have a long, good old catch up with my Kindle!

DeleteThis would be one area that I don't really have any knowledge of the hurting of one's own body, I know people do it but it's not for me, not in the permanant way. The marking that Grisha talks about is in my comfort zone.

Birthdays are always good ;-) Thanks for commenting.
DeleteI love autumn with all the brilliant colors: oranges, yellows and reds of leaves. I love crisp, cool mornings where the sky is so blue it looks endless and the air is so fresh in your lungs. I love snuggling up in a warm throw on a cold autumn day with a good book. Of course, I love snuggling up with a good book about anytime of the year. I love Thanksgiving because it is a time to remember all the many blessings in my life and express thanks. I love baking spicy pumpkin pies with dollops of cream.
ReplyDeleteI like stories of the unexpected. I also love the steamy passion but I hate mentioning favorite authors because the list is long. I appreciate the many styles authors use to weave stories of mystery, love, intrigue, preternatural and inspiration. I love reading because I can go anywhere, any time in my mind and imagine indescribable things.
Thank you for this contest and the opportunity to be introduced to new authors.
That was lovely! Thanks for stopping by :-)
