Flash Fiction Friday - Footprints #FFF

I know it's release day, but I still have to flash! Scroll up for my release day *bounce and squee* post.

*big grin*

Enjoy today's flash.

Footprints

Head down, hands in his pockets, he retraced his steps. This had been their beach, her foot prints next to his making deeper imprints, as her body swelled with the fruit of their love. They'd been so happy here, so expectant. If he closed his eyes, he could still sense her next to him, even after all these years.
Vanilla teased his nostrils and he smiled at the faint marks appearing next to his in the sand. A mere brush of gentle fingers along his jaw, and then she was gone.
        "Daddy."
He smiled at their daughter running towards him.

  5. Gave me goosebumps in a powerful loving way. I wonder what happened to his soulmate yet he has his daughter who has a part of his loved one. I'm sure when he sees his daughter he sees her. Wow. Powerful. Awesome. :)
