"Hard day, was it?"
He groaned in answer, and she smiled and scooted closer to him on the bed, cushioning him on her thighs. It wasn't often that he allowed her to take care of him, and she cherished those moments. She fell in love with him a little more when he showed his softer side, and she bent to drop a kiss on his cheek.
"Mmm, what do you think you're doing?" His voice, though sleepy, still held that edge of command that made her heart beat faster every time.
"Just taking care of you," she whispered, and continued to drop feather light kisses across his beard roughened jaw. He moved onto his back and opened his eyes to look at her.
"That's my job, baby girl."
The shadows under his eyes, and the deep grooves around his mouth told her how exhausted he was, and she cupped his face and kissed him.
It was a mere brush of her lips across his, and she giggled when he tried to grab her hair to pull her back down again, as she straightened up.
"I know it is, Sir, but just for now, let me take care of you, please."

  1. This expresses great warmth, love and care. I felt both their needs explicitly.

  4. Nicely done, Doris. We all like being taken care of from time to time. If I'd been him I'd have gone with the flow no problem. Reminds me of good, GOOD Friday late afternoons.
