#TantalizingTuesdays One last time

It's an emotional tease from me today..

She snuggled closer into his comforting warmth and his sigh whispered across her skin. If only they could make this moment last.
"I have to go, pet."
She shook her head and burrowed closer into his chest. If she didn't look at him, then he couldn't disappear.
His hold on her tightened for a precious second longer, and he kissed her nose. Tears spilled from her eyes. Tears she had vowed she wouldn't shed yet didn't seem able to stop.  He framed her face with his large hands and kissed them away. Butterfly touches that left heat and need in their wake and made her heart clench in her chest.
"Don't go," she whispered.
"Pet, I..."
His voice dropped and his muscles tensed, testament to the tight grip he had on his emotions, and remorse slammed through her. He didn't need her tears, didn't need to witness her fall apart. There was plenty of time for that when he was gone.
"I'm sorry, Sir."
She tried to extricate herself from him, but he flipped her over, instead, until she was pinned underneath him.
"Look at me."

His voice brooked no argument and when she complied he smiled, and faded away.

  2. Wow. Doris, this one leaves me happy and sad at the same time. It takes a fine writer to create emotions in direct conflict. Wonderful tease.
