#TantalizingTuesdays - Too late...

Happy Tuesday all. I'm sharing my picture with the awesome Raven MacAllan today, who has a very different take on this pic to what I saw. Do make sure to check out her version!

You will probably need tissues for mine...you have been warned

"Ssh, it doesn't matter."
Her heart broke at the pain she saw in his eyes.
"You can't save them all."
She wrapped her arms around his waist, and pulled him close. Pressed against him, his harsh breaths trembled through her, and his heartbeat thundered under her ear.
"It was her all over again."
Lana drew him closer still, and his hands fisted in her hair. It was only with her he let his guard down. No trace of the cool surgeon remained.
"I am so sorry, my love. You don't need to hear this, not today of all days."
He rested his forehead on hers, and they clung together, united in their grief.
His tears mingled with hers, until she stood on tiptoes to kiss him. He groaned, deepening the kiss, as passion flared between them. When he pulled away, the loss of his warmth sent a shiver down her spine. He traced his thumb over her kiss swollen lips, and smiled, before he turned her around to face the head stone.
Miri's smiling face greeted them. Taken on the day she died, their daughter blew out the candles on her cake.
"Happy Birthday, Miri. We miss you so much."

  1. Beautiful, heartbreaking, painful, artful descriptions, yet again. Every parent's nightmare in 200 words of horror. Excellent piece. I give it 5 hankies. Xo

  5. This is way too sad for your normally sensuously wild teases. But your words described an extremely sensitive experience that almost rings true to you. Now, I'm down. Good Tease.
