"Going somewhere?"
His deep voice stopped her rapid flight up the stairs, and she froze. Damn it, she'd left it too late. In fact she never should have come. Lissa had thought the servant's stairwell the best escape route, but she had underestimated him again.
Her breathing hitched, and her heart hammered so fast she felt faint, as he covered the distance between them in two long legged strides.  In his suave business suit, he oozed confidence and power, the bad boy turned good, but she knew the real story, had seen the monster inside.
She screwed her eyes shut and turned her head away, as he caged her in against the wall.
"I asked you a question, little one. Answer me."
His hot breath teased her senses and brought it with the scent of virile man, commanding her submission. She sensed him draw closer, and a shiver of need went down her spine, when he brushed his lips across the sensitive skin just under her ear.
He inhaled deeply and she barely bit back her moan of surrender when he licked along her jaw until his mouth hovered over hers.

"Run along, my dove. I'll enjoy the chase."
