Boss Overboard #newrelease @Claire_Gillian_ #Giveaway @evernightpub

Happy Thursday, folks. There's something about cruises, isn't there, and my guest today has written the perfect Cruise romance. Don't just take my word for it, though. Check our Claire Gillian's new release Boss Overboard.

Blurb:

An all expenses paid, trans-Atlantic cruise has romance written all over it...unless you’re the poor sap who has to inspect the toilets and time the cafeteria lines. As if secret-shopping her company's failing cruise ship isn't bad enough, Lydia Johnson is forced to bring along a "top talent" new hire as her assistant. With a heart barely healed from her ex-fiancĂ©’s deceit, she's in no mood to train a man who might cheat her out of an overdue promotion.

Paul Thomas may be new to J.P. Theriot Enterprises, but he certainly knows his way around cruise ships. The Cajun charmer also isn't shy about pursuing his desires, including his wary, but oh-so-sexy-when-she lets-her-hair-down manager. He's shared more about himself with Lydia than any other woman...except who he really is--J.P. Theriot.

Excerpt:

Twilight had begun to assert itself, tamping down the sun's rays and casting long shadows. They walked the length of the first pier and paused at the rail's edge to look out to sea. A light breeze skimmed the water and tousled Lydia's hair. She paid it no heed but let it have its way with the strands. Following the wind's example, he stepped closer to her, their arms lightly brushing as they stood side by side.

"Every port has its own special siren's call," she said, brushing the hair away from her mouth.

"Hard to resist," he said gazing at her.

She angled her body toward him. "Except sirens usually lure the susceptible to their doom."

He stepped closer. "A nasty rumor begun by those with no heart or imagination."

"I'm not so sure I agree," she whispered.

"Try." He leaned down and kissed her lips softly. Pulling back barely enough to end any contact but still close enough for their breaths to mingle, he offered her an escape. When she didn't take it, he moved in again, encircling his arms around her waist and pulling her closer.

The second kiss obliterated the first. For the first time, he felt her surrender, reluctant as it was, and reveled in it, taunted her with his triumph at proving she wanted him as much as he wanted her. Deepening it further, her soft moans filled his ears, her breasts pressed against his chest. His body responded to hers. Hands stole lower to grasp her hips and press his erection into her. She had to know how she affected him, there could be no doubt of the strength of his desire, the urgency of his need to touch, taste and bury himself in her.

For a long while, she moved with him, her hips grinding into his with a writhing need as their lips and tongues dueled in a sensuous dance. It wasn't enough. He needed more of her. Lips traveled to her jaw and then to her neck, to the spot right below her ear. Lydia caught her breath on a moan when he tasted the smooth skin there. An answering groan, nearly a growl, came out of him. He hadn't consciously made it, and yet he would claim it. All his instincts rallied and urged him to claim the woman in his arms, to drag her off somewhere private, to pin her beneath him and take her to the heights of pleasure. Forces stronger than the debating voices in his head whispering, "she'll hate you for seducing her" and "yes, yes, she wants you; she wants this; she just needs you to relieve her of a few barriers."

He slipped a hand between them to cradle the warmth of her breast in his hand. Her shirt and the bra beneath were both thin and minimal barriers, but barriers they still were. His other hand dropped to the swell of her ass, full and curvy and a sensuous delight to grip. The woman in his arms was sex incarnate. She was his siren and he gladly went down with his ship, drowning in her seductive depths.

Hot bod alert! Being Luca's @RavenMcAllan #newrelease @evernightpub #rotg

It's officially Raven week on my blog, as the lovely Raven is back  today with another new release, and lucky woman that I am I've had Luca all to myself for a bit.

*swoons*

Well, just look at him!

Raven here. I sent Luca to chat to Doris about his new book, Being Luca's.

Leigh, my heroine told me that was cruel because he could tie any woman up in knots in seconds, and not in a Shibari way either. Because as Leigh told me… "Sheesh that voice, with its sexy Italian accent and the hint of all things naughty does delicious things to my insides. And my outsides as well. It's darned hard trying to concentrate on anything…"

I wonder if Doris will feel the same?

Over to her and Luca…

L So, Raven tells me you are a friend Doris? Will you be my friend as well?
Laughs, I hope you will, because any friend of Raven should be a friend of mine. After all Raven gave Leigh and I an opportunity for a second change to be together again, and I never thought it would happen. We're both stubborn creatures, who don't give in easily, so it was inevitable sparks would fly.
Our story could so easily have finished before it really got started. Because I'm in the public eye, certain people think you're fair game for any sort of crap they want to throw at you, or write about you, and you should sit back and take it.
Shrug
Not so. Why should total rubbish be written about me, and I'm not able to answer back? The problem was, it wasn't my story to explain, but it cost me dearly. Anyway, with Raven's help, Leigh and I at least talked again. Did we sort out our problems?
SmilesWinks. You'll need to read the book to find out eh?
But now, let's have some fun eh?
D looks worried

L No nothing awful. I say a word or three, you say the first thing that comes into your head. Si?
D nods.

L so… here we go… Racing
D Driver

L ice cream
D Chocolate

L Flame retardant underwear wink
D *snort* too much hassle to get off

L  love al fresco
D perfect

L Chocolate
D Cadburys

L Completion
D Bliss
L looks at his watch Ahh, I have to go. My lovely Leigh is cooking something special she says… wink I wonder what it will involve… I'll leave Raven and Doris to give you the blurb and excerpt.

BLURB:
What is a marriage without trust?
When damning newspaper reports point to the seeming infidelity of her husband, Formula One Racing Championship driver Luca Corrieri, Leigh runs without waiting for his explanations.
After all, the pictures don't lie. He has been cheating on her with her best friend.
Luca is devastated at the ease with which Leigh abandons what they have. Surely their marriage deserves more, but how do you convince someone of your innocence when they are not prepared to listen?
When the truth finally comes out, is their love strong enough to save their marriage?

And a wee tease…

Leigh heard the front door close with a thud. It sounded like the death knell, and she closed her eyes. What had she done? Why on earth was she so sodding determined not to listen?
Because he ripped my heart out. But when did I become so unforgiving. Since when have I thought there were no shades of grey? I liked Angie and I trusted Luca. Would they really have betrayed me like that bloody tabloid said? But if they didn't why didn't they explain? Because I wouldn't let them?
Leigh looked at herself, and decided she didn't much like what she'd become. Slowly she began to think back over what she'd been told about that weekend a few months earlier.
The phone call saying Luca's mum was in hospital in Glasgow had come just as qualifying got under way. Luca been beside himself with worry until Leigh had said, don't worry I'll go.
Erich had arranged transport and Leigh had reluctantly left her husband on the eve of the race that could bring him his first World Championship.
When she got to Glasgow all had seemed well. Elena had been on her way to the airport to fly out and join them for the race when she'd slipped and fallen. Now kept in hospital overnight for observation, a phone call from Luca to say he had qualified in pole position, had put them all in a happy frame of mind.
The following day, half way through watching the race on TV Elena Corrieri had given a strange gasp and half fallen out of her bed.
After that all thoughts of Formula One, championships and who was winning what went out of Leigh's mind. She spent the best part of the day and night holding her mother in law's hand over a bed in intensive care.
When she was finally taken off the danger list and Leigh slipped out to stretch her legs and to call Luca, the first thing she'd seen were the headlines.
The next thing was the TV and the final straw was when she tried to go home for clean clothes and seen the reporters camped outside.
Leigh had driven on without stopping. Cleared out her bank account, cut her hair with a pair of nail scissors, stripped out the blonde color she'd been for years and returned to her natural red. After that, she booked into a Bed and Breakfast in the middle of nowhere, using her maiden name.
Then and only then she'd read the papers, scoured the Internet, and the following day found a solicitor.
With hindsight she accepted she was in shock and in fact in no fit state to make decisions like that. However by then it was too late. The balls were in motion, and she refused to talk to Luca. He was too late. He hadn't defended his actions, and in Leigh's mind, 'no comment' was as bad as holding a banner up saying "naughty me, I've been caught."
Now though she wondered. Why was she such a bitch over it all?

Well what can I say?

I'm growing old disgracefully and loving it.

Dh and I live on the edge of a Scottish forest, and rattle around in a house much too big for us.

Our kids have grown up and flown the nest, but roll back up when they want to take a deep breath and smell the daisies so to speak.

I write in my study, which overlooks the garden and the lane. I'm often seen procrastinating, by checking out the wild life, looking—only looking—at the ironing basket and assuring tourists that indeed, I'm not the bed and breakfast. That would mean cooking fried eggs without breaking the yolks, and disturbing the dust bunnies as they procreate under the beds. Not to be thought of.

Being able to do what I love, and knowing people get pleasure from my writing is fantastic. Long may it last.

#Interview with @marylougeorge2 (Mary Lou George) Saving Destiny @sirenbookstrand

Happy Monday, folks....

Yeah, I know, it's Monday, but, hey, look on the bright side. It's been a while since I interviewed an author on my blog, so without further ado, I give you the lovely Mary Lou George. She is here with her new release Saving Destiny.

*****

Canadian Mary Lou George worked in the design studio of a major Art Museum for over twenty years.  The creative atmosphere there helped to keep her imagination fertile and her humor ever at the ready.  These days she concentrates on the art of romance.  Hailing from a long line of earth mothers and animal lovers, her home is filled with love and laughter.  Mary believes there’s a little bit of magic in each of us and working hard for the happy ending is always worth the effort.  She’s written 4 mainstream, paranormal romances and one mainstream mystery romance for Siren/Bookstrand.  Her sixth book, Saving Destiny (published February 2014) is the first straight up mainstream romance story she’s crafted.  The print edition will be available in June.

Q. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

A. I’m an animal lover.  In my stories I’ll litter the floor with dead bodies, but the dog (cat, bunny, donkey, horse…) will always thrive.  I often wish books carried the reassuring line, “no animal is hurt in this novel”.  I’m a total sap and can’t stand it when an animal suffers.  I can’t shake it.  Humour is a life saving device for me so I try to inject the funny into most situations.  Feminism isn’t a dirty word to me.  I’m a feminist, but that certainly doesn’t mean I hate men.  I love men.  I have them for dinner often.  I just want our society to value women and their capabilities as much as men and theirs.

Q. What made you write ‘this’ story?

A. Saving Destiny started out as a screenplay but it wasn’t long before I realized it wasn’t practical.  ‘Destiny’ is a beaten and abused horse in foal.  Not an easy sight to show an audience.  That kind of horror is much better left to our imagination, so I figured it was more suited to the novel format.
For hundreds of years there has been this incredible connection between the human race and the noble equine.  My sister has dedicated her life to horses, so I got a lot of input from her in this story.  A horse’s ability to heal us inspires and humbles me and I wanted to share that feeling.  Sloan and Mac join forces to save a fragile mare and through those efforts they find their way back to each other.
I wanted to create characters who belonged together but were torn apart by tragedy. I hoped the reader would feel like there was no way these two people could love each other again and be overjoyed that alas, human beings are capable of amazing things when it comes to love.

Q. Tell us about your cover.

A. Working for a museum producing fine art books made me a pretty harsh judge when it comes to covers.  Even as a reader, I’m not a big fan of the romance novel cover.  I’d rather rely on my imagination to determine what the characters look like, but that’s just not done in this business.  However, I think the designer did a pretty good job with this one.  The book is set in small town Kentucky, check, at a horse farm, check, in the summer, check.  I think the woman is particularly beautiful, the guy a little less so.  But that’s ok.  I find men more difficult to cast.  Isn’t that always the case?

Q. Describe a typical day’s writing for us

A. I dress for comfort not style.  It’s not pretty.  My inner taskmaster makes a bargain, “Just turn on the computer, open the file and read the last thing you wrote.  That’s all I ask.”  It usually puts me in the mood to write.  I want to finish what I started, give my heroes their happiness and my villains their crushing defeat.  Once on a roll I’m hard to stop.  I lose all track of time, write for twelve hours straight and have to force myself to stop long enough to tend to my responsibilities.  Experience has taught me that it’s best to write for a maximum of seven hours.  Around then my eyes start to blur, my stomach growls and my children-of-another-species get antsy, so it’s time to stop anyway.  I’m always convinced that tomorrow will be different and I’ll be eager to start.  But as each new day dawns I’m plagued with the same doubts.  Can I do it?  What if my imagination’s dried up?  I suck!
When I started out, the writing thing was easier.  My ideas were diamonds and everything I wrote was gold.  I know better now.  It’s ego bashing, heart breaking, hard work.  But I can’t help myself.

Q. What inspires you?

A.People and the wonderful and terrible things we do to each other and the other creatures on this planet.  I want to right all the wrongs and make the world fair.  In my books I can do that.

Q. If you weren’t a writer what would you be?

A. Frustrated and not fun to be around.

Q. Do your characters ever surprise you?

A. No!  I’m the boss.  But sometimes I surprise myself.  I can end up delving deeper into a character than I initially intended becoming more interested in their journey.  Maybe that character then warrants a larger role or even a story of their own.  But I’m still the boss, I tell you!

Q. What could you not do without when you’re writing?

A. My computer.  Sorry, I wish I had a more whimsical answer.  I’m left-handed.  The physical act of writing has never brought me pleasure and the results are dubious at best.  I have the handwriting of a serial killer.  With a computer, my fingers can almost keep up with my thoughts, my writing is always legible and I’m not mistaken for a menace to society.

Q. What words of wisdom do you have for the aspiring authors out there?

A. The only way to guarantee failure is to give up.  Your words are not gold.  The editor is your friend.  Each sentence matters and needs to contribute something to the story.

Q. Where do you see yourself in ten year’s time?

A. Doing the same thing but with a lot more money…and maybe a pig.

Q. Do you have a favourite quote?

“Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man” – Arthur Schopenhauer

Q. Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?

A. No.  I suffer from laziness and crippling doubt.

Q. What other books can your readers look forward to?
A. I’ve just finished the fourth book in my New Crescent Series.  It’s a paranormal story filled with malignant shadows, meddlesome ghosts, and all kinds of strange goings on.  It’s stewing in its own juices right now.  I’ll get back to it for some polishing, but in the meantime I’m plotting out a story with older main characters.  Teresa has wasted too much time thinking someone better would come along and Elliot’s wife has declared she’s a lesbian and left him.  They knew each other in high school.  He had a big crush on her, but she just liked him “as a friend”.  The tables are about to turn turn.  I’m also jotting down notes for a novel featuring characters from Saving Destiny.  I was so pleased when my editor commented, “I love Erick!” because he’s the lucky hero.

Q. And finally can you share the blurb and excerpt with us?

Blurb:
Sloan Ridgeway and Mac Watson's fairy tale ended in tragically-ever-after. For years they've been separated by the grief and guilt surrounding his little sister's death. Devastated, Sloan traded small-town Kentucky for star studded big cities and tabloid fame, but life in the limelight was filled with emptiness and betrayal.
When one more highly publicized broken engagement sends Sloan home to lick her wounds she comes face-to-face with Mac. He obviously hasn't forgotten the past, but despite his antagonism, he's more compelling than ever. To save herself the heartbreak, Sloan vows to keep out of his way, but destiny won't let her. Desperate to rescue an abused horse in foal, Sloan is forced to enlist Mac's help.
Working together day after day begins to reignite the passion they once felt for each other. But is passion enough? Can Sloan and Mac breathe new life into their malnourished hearts and prove that true love trumps tragedy every time?

Excerpt:
“Mac?” She’d barely finished uttering the question in his name when his hand cupped the back of her neck and his lips came crashing down on hers. She struggled against him at first, knowing it was frustration and anger that had instigated the kiss. But it took only a moment for Mac to ignite the heat in her own blood and suddenly it no longer mattered to her what had precipitated the contact. All that mattered was what fueled it—passion. She welcomed it, with a cherry on top.
Despite the violence of his emotions, Mac still managed to kiss with finesse and she opened to him like a flower to the sun. He held her so tight she felt her bones might crack, but somehow he knew just how far to go without actually hurting her. She reveled in his touch and gave as good as she got. He pulled back slightly and she took the opportunity to suck his bottom lip into her mouth. It was Mac who’d taught her the art of kissing and in the intervening years she’d expanded on that knowledge. He moaned. Clawing at his chest, trying to get her hands on more of him, Sloan groaned with frustration. Reading her mind and coming to her rescue, he tore at his shirt, exposing his bare chest. Not satisfied with his nakedness alone, he pulled her T-shirt up over her bra and with adept hands freed her sensitive breasts. Glorying in the feel of his skin, Sloan rubbed herself against him over and over again. His hands dove into her hair and yanked her head back. He used his mouth, his tongue, and his teeth to worship the length of her arched neck and the softness of her breasts, making her tremble and moan.
“Oh God, Sloan, I want…so bad…I could hurt you right now,” he said between gritted teeth.
She heard his words over the pounding of her pulse and the roaring want in her ears. “You won’t,” she moaned.
Sloan could feel the hard length of his arousal as he drove his hips against hers and her hand flew to his crotch stroking his huge hardness with firm, sure strokes. He rose up and ground against her, pushing her back in the seat. His hand slipped under the waistband of her jeans and she said a silent word of thanks to the person who decided to put just a touch of spandex in denim. Like some sharp shooter, with unerring accuracy, Mac found just the right spot and touched her very core. His fingers were quick, thorough, and oh so clever. This was the man who’d known her more intimately than anyone. Years ago, he’d taught her how it was done. No one did it better and within moments Sloan felt that urgent sweet rush, climbing higher ever higher until she broke into tiny breathless fragments, throbbing, crying out his name. But for Sloan and Mac one release wasn’t enough. He’d always been able to make her climax over and over again with just the right pressure and movement of his fingers. He obliterated every other man in her experience. Lost in each other, place and time meant nothing to either of them. She wanted him inside her and knew he wanted to be there. She tugged at the button on his pants and he grunted.
The honking of a car horn snapped them out of their passionate oblivion. Somehow moving with lightning-quick speed, Mac protected her from prying eyes. In that split second’s distraction, their moment of sexual insanity was lost, gone forever. Pushing her away, as if he’d been burned, he rebuttoned his pants. He sat frozen for what felt like a long time, but must have been only seconds. Finally, he heaved a huge sigh. Turning his head, he watched as she finished setting her clothing to rights.
He ran a shaking hand through his hair, but as usual managed to avoid smoothing it. His expression wasn’t kind. “What the hell were you thinking? You shouldn’t have touched me.” His eyes still held a raging storm as they scanned her face. “Damn you, Sloan, I almost lost control. You should have stopped me. A simple ‘no’ would have sufficed. I could have hurt you. I’ve never hurt a woman in my life. That’s as close as I ever want to get.”

Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, Mary Lou. Please let us know where we can find you.

In my blog on my website I don’t just discuss writing and my books.  I offer up opinions and observations on a variety of subjects, from Scooby Doo and tattoos to skinny jeans and three legged cats.  I have a tendency to tweet about television shows a great deal, but always with a sense of humour unless something has really moved me then you’ll notice some passion.

Spotlight on The Arrangement #newrelease @BethanyKris @Crimson_Romance

Please give a warm welcome to Bethany Kris who is here today with a fascinating insight into her new release The Arrangement

Take it away, Bethany :-)

****

Many thanks and hugs to Doris for letting me stop by today to talk about my newest release The Arrangement.
What do you think of when you hear the word mafia?
Do you think of the Soprano-type family?
Do you think Italian?
When I think of the mafia, I see a brotherhood. Sometimes I think of the Italian Cosa Nostra, but more often than not, I go Russian. Generally, as a rule, the organized crime families are made up of men who have taken an oath to live a certain way. The crime way, yes, but it’s their way. So what else do I see when I add this factor in? I think of the darker, edgier kind of man, the one who’s probably got a bad mouth and demands respect. He likes his guns, maybe he even dabbles in a bit of drugs, he’s probably not shy around women, and he’s the kind of man most women would call the bad boy.
So, what kind of girl fits with this boy?
A girl, much like the boy, who grew up in the lifestyle, too.
When I added all of these things together, The Arrangement began to take form. A pre-arranged marriage, but between two people who already fell in love. Families who mix danger into their daily lives like it is candy. Two very different organized crime families, who honestly, should not have mixed from the start. But hey, where’s the fun in that?
When a Cosa Nostra girl and a Bratva boy meet…

The Arrangement by Bethany-Kris
Genre: Contemporary erotic romance
Publisher: Crimson Romance
Release Date: March 17th, 2014
Length: 319 pages, estimated

Blurb:
Nothing will stop the Bratva mob boss from taking back what’s his, and once he has her, he’ll do anything to keep her…

Viviana “Vine” Carducci’s and Anton Avdonin’s marriage was decided more than two decades ago. The deal between leading mafia families has more on the line than anyone knew, even if the Bratva and Cosa Nostra shouldn’t mix. When Vine’s family is murdered and she’s left with nothing more than her grief to survive the mob world alone, she believes the arrangement won’t see the light of day.

Anton can’t allow the one woman he was supposed to love get away. At the possibility of her death, he steps in to save her with guns blazing, knowing exactly what it might cost him: everything. But it’s been nearly a decade since their last meeting, and he can’t help but wonder if the woman he took back is the same girl he fell for all those years before.

Protected and loved, Vine is unable to forget their shared moments a lifetime ago, or the future she knows they’re owed. When an old flame of Anton’s shows up to rip the veil off the carefully constructed secrets he’d been hiding, she learns that nothing about her life is as it seems. But, that’s nothing compared to the bomb about to blow. Can Vine see beyond the pain and blood to take what she always wanted? And just how far will the mob prince go to keep her safe?

In a world where violence, deceit, and greed reign, your life is not your own, and sometimes, love has to be arranged.
Excerpt:
“Why all the safety precautions if you’re expecting me to live openly here?” she asked. “Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?”
Anton cocked a brow. “I’m hoping your uncle will be a lot less brazen if I’m not keeping you hidden.” He still hadn’t let go of her sides, those teasing thumbs of his rolling gently against the undersides of her breasts in tender motions. “Deny that you want this, too, Vine. You’ve always wanted me. You want this life because you were meant for it, and I have waited more than long enough to get you here living it with me.”
“You’re not giving me a choice. I’ve spent the last three years thinking that this arrangement was over, and then you come in with guns blazing and a house on lockdown, Anton. That’s … It’s not fair. You signed my death warrant doing this.”
Immediately, his hands left her skin. She wanted them back, but her pride wouldn’t allow her to admit that fact. “It was already signed.”
What?”
Placing his hands to his knees, Anton shook his head and muttered, “He was already getting ready to put out a hit on you. That guard of yours was probably going to be the one to do it to get his in with the family. I was hoping to see you back in the states before I approached you myself, but Sonny didn’t give me the chance.”
No one likes to off a woman, Vine.
She couldn’t help but remember Sam saying that. Would he have done it?
“You can’t possibly know that for sure.”
The look he gave turned her stomach with fear. “I can and I do, Vine. There are men in that organization who are less trustworthy than a snake. Even their eyes and ears can be bought. I stepped in now because I needed to, not because I thought you were ready, or that you wanted me to.”
An ache settled in her chest. How was she supposed to trust him?
“Sonny wouldn’t kill me simply because I wanted to marry you, Anton. I’m not worth a damn thing to him alive, nothing more than a nuisance he has to look after.” Frustrated by his lack of expression, her bitterness rose.  “Dead I’m worth even less though, right?”
“Dead you’re worth nothing,” Anton admitted, hurting Viviana a little more. “That is exactly what your uncle wants to achieve. For secrets to remain hidden from his family and for his power to remain intact.”
That only left her more disturbed, emotions rolling from one thing to the next without ever landing on just one feeling. “Our families won’t merge now, regardless if we’re married or not. So you lied to me earlier when you said that’s what this was about. A marriage is only going to cause more issues. I’m worthless to the Bratva; you practically said so yourself.”
“No, you’re worth a great deal, especially if you’re married to me.”
But, why?
“You’re hiding something from me,” she realized, hurt that he was lying again, even if it was by omission. Viviana couldn’t decide which stung worse—that he didn’t trust her, or that he thought she didn’t deserve to know whatever it was. “What aren’t you saying?”
Anton looked stricken, fingers drumming a quick beat on his thighs. “I gave them my word. It was supposed to be them explaining this to you if they desired to—all the reasons and things that happened years ago. It’s not my story to tell, and I promised. My word is all I’m worth if you consider the way I live; without it, I have nothing.” Reaching out, he cupped a hand over her knee and ran it along the inside of her jittery leg. With his fingers moving so softly against her inner thigh, he pressed his fingertips close enough to her center to make Viviana throb with need. Murmuring, he said, “Can’t you try to trust me? Viviana, you know me … you do.”
She ignored his plea. “Who, Anton?” His fingers pressed harder at her words, grip tightening when Viviana refused to react to his motions. What she really wanted was more. So much more of his hands on her body, but she didn’t dare speak that out loud. “Was it my father, or Nicoli? Who?”
“I can’t answer that right now.” With that, he stood and held out a hand for her to take. “Come, I’ll get you back in bed for the evening. Let you rest and get the last of that sedative out of your system. I promise you’ll feel better in the morning.”
Too exhausted to argue, her palm met his. Anton’s lips touched down to Viviana’s fingers in a flutter of movement. She wouldn’t have noticed the quick kiss had she not felt the heat of his mouth brushing along her sensitive skin. She might as well have been sixteen and falling for him all over again.
Viviana couldn’t figure out if she was willing enough to let him do it. It didn’t help that she wasn’t all too sure if she knew this man anymore. Was he the same one she wanted all those years ago? Had his feelings remained the same nearly a decade later … was that even possible? Could someone want another that much?
What was even more frightening was that with his blue eyes watching, and his hand connected with hers, waiting, Anton still felt like hers.
Just like he always had.
