Haste Ye Back - Guest blog by Wendy Burke

HASTE YE BACK is my third work with Decadent Publishing. This 1NightStand story is number four of six with overlapping characters that fellow-DPer, Deanna Wadsworth and I are penning. So, if you've been keeping score on that front, although the stories stand alone in their own right, Deanna's BEAR IT ALL started the half-dozen, followed by my THE ONE HE CHOSE. You'll be able to read her Accidentally Beautiful soon, to be followed by Haste Ye Back. You're going to have to wait a bit to find out what the last two titles are (because we don't even know them yet!)

                  Loch Lomond
People ask about the title, where did it come from, what does it mean?

Well, the story pretty much wrote itself in all of five minutes as I sat on a log along Loch Lomond in July 2007. I was in Scotland to visit a pen pal of thirty some years. The title, however, was my friend's mum's dinner toast one night. (It must be some cultural thing--three hours of dinner at your host's home before you're 'qualified' to visit their neighborhood pub!)

And although a stunning country, for some reason I didn't see the young man in the photo to the left anywhere during my time there. What's up with that?

Just thinking about men in kilts makes me thirsty for a return trip--complete with a fine Scottish meal of haggis, neeps and tatties, accompanied by some Famous Grouse. Or some tasty fish and chips with an ice cold Irn-Bru! (For the record, I LOVE haggis!)

So, I hold my Scottish family responsible for this story--in a good way, of course.  I'm honored for all those years of friendship, finally being able to meet them, hug them, and enjoy their company. I'm sincerely hoping to HASTE YE BACK soon!

Check out Wendy's other 1NS release, The One He Chose. Just comment--one person will win an e-copy!

All her life something had drawn Bryn Wallace to Scotland. Even dumped by her fiancĂ© just weeks before their trip to Edinburgh, Bryn is still determined to have a good time. But touring the romantic Highlands is a bit boring alone. Not wanting to troll the pubs, she goes out on a limb and signs up with Madame Eve’s 1NS service.

Divorced Ian McCallum is tired of making decisions, especially when it comes to women. When an old schoolmate suggests 1NS, he figures he has nothing to lose. But, what he doesn’t know, is his match through Madame Eve’s 1NS service was centuries in the making.

Wendy currently has three works on the Decadent Publishing shelves and is in the process of writing 274 more stories which she hopes Decadent Publishing will be interested in! Find her on Facebook, Twitter and lurking about the internet. You could send her a nasty When not playing with the people in her head, she has silly life with her way-too-cute chef husband and two furry feline kids in the Great Lakes area of the Midwest.
