Lisa
stepped under the hot spray with a sigh of relief. Her shift in A&E had
been long and grueling and she needed to let water wash away the blood she
could still see on her hands. There had been so much. A sob escaped her,
masking the slide of the door, and she gasped when strong arms pulled her back
into a hard muscled chest and Jason’s earthy scent surrounded her.
“Shh,
my love, I told you, I’m always here.
She
shut her eyes, afraid to spoil the magic. He was gone forever, but this just
felt so real.
