James
opened the card propped up on his desk with a frown. He recognized the writing,
of course. He’d seen it often enough when his boss signed the letters he
presented to him, but this… this couldn’t be from him.
His
sip of coffee went down the wrong way, and coughing he turned the rather
explicit card over to read the message.
If
you’re not interested, I’ll understand, but I couldn’t think of another way to
tell you.
George
Mac Kenzie’s cologne alerted James to his presence, and he swung his chair
round and sucked in a breath.
“Merry
Christmas.”
