Have a date at the Blood Bar with @MichaelaRhua #anthology @breathlesspress

I have a special guest on my blog today. Michaela is  a member of my crit group and she's here to tell us a little about the long awaited last installment to The Blood Bar Chronicles. You may recall I have a story in The Alphas, book one of this awesome series.

Over to you Michaela ...

****

Thank you for letting me visit your blog. I really appreciate your support.
This anthology which is released on 5th April - started over a year ago as a fun project with my critique group who blog as The Nuthouse Scribblers. The idea was to link stories together around the same bar – The Blood Bar. Book 1 The Alphas and Book2 The Protectors are already available at an eBook seller near you. But Book 3 The Enforcers came out on 5th April! It features 4 stories written by Kiru Taye, Alyssa Fox and Caledonia St. James and myself.
Here is the tag line for the anthology.
The Enforcers: The Blood Bar Chronicles, Book 3.
When the Wicked Ladies of Fiction meet up in a Scottish bar they don’t expect a night filled with danger, lust and hot supernatural men…

My story is called Logan's Captive.
Blurb
One visit to The Blood Bar and life will never be the same. Fed up with her life, Kyla looks forward to meeting up with her friends. Only events take an unexpected turn and Kyla is rescued by Logan, who seems determined to keep her captive.
Logan didn't come to Scotland looking for a mate. But the scent of this sexy woman calls to his wolf and he knows he has to claim her. The only problem is she is human or so she thinks.

Excerpt
He got up and walked to the window, long legs taking confident strides, almost like an animal prowling. She saw his defined back and shoulders flex with each step. Kyla snuggled into the pillow, enjoying the feast of powerful man in front of her. Logan reached to open the curtains and the morning light shone in.
Kyla sighed at the sight of him, letting her eyes drink him up, his wide muscular shoulder, and a hard six-pack, leading to tapered hips. Her gaze followed down. His jogging bottoms were low on hips she would love to wrap her legs around. Suddenly, her mouth was dry and she found it hard to swallow. Her mind raced with images of her hands gliding over his arms, palms on his hard chest traveling to what lay under his jogging bottoms.
She gasped audibly. What was happening? Where was she getting all these thoughts from? Hearing her gasp brought Logan onto the bed, and his hands onto her shoulders.
"You okay, my sweet?" Blue eyes full of concern looked into her soul. Oh, his scent was intoxicating to her senses; she closed her eyes and breathed him in deeply. A musky, spicy, warmth drifted off him. Kyla sighed again, leaning forward to get closer. Logan's hands held her still.
"Kyla, listen to me. We need to talk." His voice was insistent.
She opened her eyes, hearing him, but not listening. Her hands reached out on their own accord, and her fingertips brushed his chest, gliding over his nipples and travelling down. Her brain fought the instinct to touch, yet her body ached to touch him.
"Oh God, you're killing me here!" Logan growled.
"Am I?" Kyla spoke through a drunken haze.
He grabbed her wrist before she was able to touch his erection that was so obvious. "Stop; you don't know what's going on," he ground out, shaking her shoulders gently.
"Logan, kiss me, touch me, please," Kyla begged as she rose onto her knees.
Her free hand moved from his chest to his neck, pulling him forward. Eyes focused on his lips, she parted her own as he came so close their breath intermingled. The air around her seemed hot and heavy. She felt his broad hand move around her waist as he brought her to him, chest to chest. She lifted her chin, just as his lips captured her in a kiss that sent all her senses wild. His lips gentle at first, teasing, but as she groaned into him she heard him growl. He increased the pressure, crushing him to her. His other hand fisted her hair so he could lock her to him. Kyla was lost, completely.

I hope you like the sound of that. Here are the buy links and more about me below.

Michaela Rhua
Michaela Rhua always dreamed of writing but this never happened until she met the lovely group of ladies known as UCW. Their passion for writing and encouragement inspired her to see if she could do it too. Now she is multi published and loves writing!

She has teenage children and a husband, who also keep her busy. However, it is whilst travelling into work that she has time to create her characters and imagine other places in which they exist as her world skims by the window. Conversations overheard often lead to the birth of new ideas that she scribbles down in her trusty notebook.

I am rather excited about my first ever nomination, not least because I wrote this anthology with my fabulous critique group ladies!

We rock, guys, it's official.

Release day!!!

Lots of demented hopping is going on here today, because The Alphas, Blood Bar Chronicles, Book One releases today. My contribution is Saving Hope.

“Saving Hope”

Noelle has only one thing on her mind — how to save her sick daughter from a mysterious illness. The night out with the girls ought to be a distraction, but it turns out to change her life forever.

Fate is not something Henri, a two thousand year old vampire, takes lightly. When he steps into the bar teeming with Supernaturals, there is only one scent he finds. Noelle was the one woman he’d never forgotten. She held a secret that could cause a war. With time finally ticking in his ear, there is only one decision he can make — he has to protect her or die trying.

*******

To say I am excited would be an understatement, but today I am in good company. You see the ladies who are in this anthology with me belong to my amazing Critique Group UCW.

You will have heard me wax lyrically about the UCW girls on more than one occasion, and I will no doubt continue to do so for years to come. They are so much more than 'just' critique partners. They have become firm friends and my second family and I know I wouldn't have achieved half of what I have, without their support, critique, whip cracking and holding of hands that happens every day in our group.

Don't believe me? Look at this UCW Banner our resident IT Guru Cherie Nicholls made to celebrate the group's achievements over the last year.

We are adding to those covers all the time!

Talking of Cherie Nicholls, it was one of her random ideas (she's famous for them) that is to blame for this anthology. We were all in a bit of a writing slump, and waiting on submissions and Cherie said, "I had this idea..."
We all groaned and then sat up and took notice when she explained it. Just for fun (famous last words)let's take a group of ladies round a table in a bar, we all take one lady and tell her story.

We swapped ideas, came up with a theme and off we went. Breathless Press heard about our group project, said could they have a look and the rest is history. All three books in the series have now been accepted, so look out for them in the months to come.

Pretty awesome stuff all round. I had such fun writing this story and working closely with my mates and we are very proud of the Alphas. If you like shifters, vampires, fire elementals, time travel and a bit of Egyptian history and prophesy thrown in and lots of heat, then give the Alphas a whirl. You will not be disappointed and yeah, I am biased, but as Cherie would say, Bite me!

*grins*
The Alphas are all giving away an e-copy of our new release, so you have four chances to get your little hands on one. Just leave a comment below and then hop on to Cherie Nicholls, Arya Grey, and Jorja Lovett. If their posts aren't up yet, they soon will be, so do check them out.

*gets her whip out to get the other three to blog*

All that remains is to leave you with a little excerpt.

"Belle, as much as I would love for you to undress me, there is no need. I'm fine." His large hands on hers stilled her feverish attempts, and the mocking words finally registered over the frantic beating of her heart.
"How can you say that? You're not fine, there is too much blood. We—" His grip under her chin forced her to look up at him, freezing her protests. As she watched, the lacerations on his throat and cheek closed in front of her eyes. But that was impossible, unless…"What in the world are you?"
The man—thing, whatever he was—froze at her whispered words, and the brief glimpse of pain she caught in the indigo depths of his eyes before he looked away, spoke to her more than any words could have. The coolness of his skin seeped into her hands still resting on his shirt, and she bit her lip to stop from reacting further as all the puzzle pieces clicked into place. It all made sense now. From the minute she had spotted him all these years ago, she had been unable to resist him, and even now all her body wanted was for him to bury his cock deep inside her, and damn the consequences. Her hands moved over the muscles in his chest of their own accord, traveling up to his throat over the just-closed tear. They skimmed along the strong jaw, stopping just short of his full mouth. She watched his fangs descend with a soft click.
"What do you think I am, ma belle?" His deep voice washed over her, increasing the tingles in her core. Moisture pooled between her legs, and she couldn't quite stop her low moan of arousal. He tightened his hold on her arms for a moment before he pushed her away. "Noelle, listen to me, there is something you need to know. You're not yourself." He paused, shaking his head at her as she strained to get closer to him. "If you were, you'd be running away screaming by now, not looking at me with come-fuck-me eyes."
Instead of appalling her, the crude words sent a renewed burst of her juices into her already drenched knickers. She locked her fingers behind his neck, but he wouldn't budge, even as she tried to close the distance between them.
His voice was a low rumble in her ear. "Noelle, listen, you're under a spell. What you feel right now, it's not real."
Damn him, he talked too much. She so needed to come. Of course she was under a goddamn spell, one of his doing. She hardly recognized the needy voice coming out of her mouth, pleading with him. "I don't care, just—Please, I want you."

Six Sentence Sunday

I took a break last week, but we're back today with six from my story Saving Hope from The Blood Bar Chronicles, which releases very, very soon. For those of you that don't know this is a collaboration with my wonderful critique group UCW and we're all quite excited about it. This is book One and there are two more coming.

*big grin*

But enough of ramblings and on to the six. Noelle has been hiding something...

"Why didn't you tell me?"
The tone of those carefully enunciated words could have cut glass, and the barely controlled anger behind them stirred her own temper as he slowly advanced toward her. He looked every inch the predator, his pale complexion even more drained of color, fangs fully extended, hands shaped into claws, his eyes narrowed to slits. Noelle swallowed nervously. Seeing him on the edge, danger pouring off his half-naked frame, muscles rippling as he moved with seemingly effortless grace, really shouldn't turn her on. But, heaven help her, it did!

Till next week, folks.
