She played until her fingers were numb, and the cold
crept into her bones. The tears froze on her face as the temperature dropped
and darkness fell. But he'd promised, damn it. They had a deal. The haunting
music filled the air and through the swirling mists a figure formed.
Could it be him? Returned to her as promised?
Emma shut her eyes and played harder as a thousand
fingers wrapped themselves around her to drag her to the depths of the earth.
Just as she thought all was lost, the words freed
her.
"Return him, the debt is paid."
