Bounding through the forest, his paws ate up the
damp earth. Secure in the knowledge that he was close, he gave his beast free
reign. He felt the light before he saw it. It darted across his skin like rays
of acid, and his wolf howled his distress. Fur changed to skin, bones cracked
and re-arranged until he stood naked in the middle of the clearing. Forced to
shift, he shielded his eyes from the chilling light, and he smiled.
Light hunters.
He was ready for them this time. Time to take his
revenge on the killers of his kind.

Okay, so where is the rest. Like the idea of Light Hunters and how the hero might outwit them.
ReplyDeleteIs he the only survivor of his kind? I like his transformation from wolf to disguised human.
ReplyDeleteI was totally drawn into your story and desperately want more. Great flash.
ReplyDeleteDoris, your descriptive use of words strung together to build images is phenomenal: "paws ate up the damp earth", "across his skin like rays of acid", "bones cracked and re-arranged". Outstanding.:) xo
