Interview with Mackenzie Williams @sirenbookstrand #bdsm The Orchard:Save Me

Hope you're having a great weekend, folks. I've snared the lovely Mackenzie Williams for you. She's in my hot seat, answering my nosy questions and telling us all about her story, The Orchard: Save me, which is now available from Amazon.

So, grab a cuppa, settle down, and give Mackenzie a warm welcome!

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

A. ….. I am a small town girl from the Midwest. I grew up in a large family with four younger brothers. After high school, I went to college and studied Education. I found my future husband there and we were married soon after graduation.

I started writing in the Erotic Romance genre because these are the types of stories I like to read myself. They are exciting and emotional. When I'm not writing, I like to turn my brain off and listen to music or watch movies.

Q. What made you write ‘this’ story?

A. ….  This is the second book in my Orchard series.  I started these books because I really like the idea of a BDSM club where things might seem over the top but everyone is safe.

Q. Tell us about your cover.

A. …..  I wanted a simple but dramatic cover.  It is Master Brad standing with Megan who is tied up holding an apple to represent The Orchard.

Q. Describe a typical day’s writing for us

A. ….  I don't get the chance to write everyday but on days I do, I start out with a quick run.  Then after some coffee, I try and write until lunch.  After a long break, I come back to writing before supper.  After that, my brain is usually mush.

Q. What inspires you?

A. ….  I get inspiration from books I've read, movies, or music.

Q. If you weren’t a writer what would you be?

A. ….  I'm not really sure.  I feel like I found writing at just the right time.

Q. Do your characters ever surprise you?

A. ….  Yes.  There have been several times when I think that the story is heading in one direction but the characters seem to take over.  They seem to sometimes have their own thoughts on where the story should go.

Q. What could you not do without when you’re writing?

A. ….  Coffee!

Q. What words of wisdom do you have for the aspiring authors out there?

A. ….  I am pretty new to writing but my advice would just be to try and squeeze in as much writing time as you can.  Daydream, take notes, and then work hard at putting the story on paper.

Q. Where do you see yourself in ten year’s time?

A. …..  Hopefully, still writing but I would like to stretch out into other genres but never leaving this one completely.

Q. Do you have a favourite quote?

A. ….  I'm not sure I have a favorite but here is one I like and can attest to.
"Speak when you are angry - and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret."
Dr. Laurence J. Peter quotes

Q. Do you ever suffer from writer’s block?

A. …  Luckily so far, if I do have a block it is usually just me not being able to decide where things are going.  Talking out the story helps me a lot.  Even if no one is listening.

Q. What other books can your readers look forward to?

A. ….  I am currently working on the third Orchard book.  The new one follows Master Cole and Samantha.

Q. And finally can you share the blurb and excerpt with us?

Blurb:

Megan's first party at The Orchard didn't go well. Her fears caused her to panic and she was told she wasn't ready for the BDSM club. She just couldn't walk away, though. Megan felt that Master Brad was the man she had been looking for. A Master that she could trust and would make her happy.

Master Brad has seen something in Megan that has peaked his interest and decides to give her another chance. The pairing was going well and the Dom was even thinking about giving Megan his apple necklace, a club symbol of ownership.

Things soon get complicated, however, when someone from Megan's past comes back into her life. Her ex, Tate, just won't let her move on. Can she overcome her fears and her past for a future with Master Brad? Can her Dom protect and save her?

Excerpt:

Brad gently pushed Megan’s head down so it was resting on his chest. He rested his chin on the top of her head and took a minute to just feel how good she felt in his arms.

“Little one, I have no intention on playing with anyone else anytime soon or letting you fall for someone else.”

Brad could feel his sub relax into his hold. Is this what others feel with their long-term subs?

After a minute of hugs, Brad was leading Megan through the main room with drinks in tow. His sweet had tensed when they first entered the room, presumably because she was still shy about walking around in her underwear. After a few minutes, she had relaxed.

It didn’t take him long to spot Master Jesse and his necklaced sub sitting nearby.

“May we join you?” Brad spoke to his fellow Dom. He noticed right away that Kellie shot her gaze down the minute he had started to speak. Master Jesse had such an obedient one but maybe too boring, Brad thought.

“Of course. Please.” Master Jesse gestured to a neighboring couch.

Brad signaled his sub to take a seat but before he could sit next to her, Master Nathan came up and put a hand on his shoulder.

“Master Brad, would you please come with me to the office? Security needs to speak with you briefly.”

“Security?” Megan spoke out of turn.

Brad turned and gave his slave a disapproving glare. Megan turned her head to look at the floor. At least she has the courtesy to look guilty, Brad thought. The Dom returned his stare to Master Nathan.

“Certainly.” Brad then turned to his friend. “Master Jesse, will you please keep an eye on my little one for me?”

“Yes, of course.”

Brad gave Megan a reassuring squeeze on the back of her neck. She looked up at him with a little concern in her eyes. Brad managed a small smile and then turned to follow Master Nathan. Truthfully, he was a little concerned as well. What did security want with him?

The two men walked up the back stairs and entered the office. There were two security personnel inside the office. One was sitting at the computer.

“Master Brad, we just wanted to advise you about something we saw earlier in the parking lot,” the man at the computer said.

Confusion spread through Brad. “OK.”

“On camera we have your sub arriving and exiting her car. The thing that concerned us is that she was followed.”
